I can always depend on FReepers to keep things factually correct. Yes, there is no slack here on FR. I hesitated to correct you at first because I thought it was possible that you merely used the song title to fit in with the whole wife-beating theme of the thread. (... purposely disregarding who wrote it.)
I still suspect that is true, but I knew there would be a half dozen corrections, so I endeavored to be first. LOL

Oh yeah, I just remembered one thing: Jackson Browne's first wife committed suicide. Mmmmm...

Isn't he the guy who's "Running On Empty"? Yep. Now there's an appropriate theme song for the leftists.

I never have, and I never will, raise a hand against a woman. I can remember when I did it at the age of 7. The cute little girl next door hit me, so I hit her back. Unfortunately my Daddy saw this. he came up behind me in a slit second and, in front of the entire neighborhood gave me the spanking of my life (one of only 5, in my life, I ever recieved form my Daddy). Screaming st the top of his lungs all the while, "Don't you EVER, NEVER EVER, hit a woman. As long as you are my son you will NEVER, EVER hit a woman. I don't give a DAMN what the circumstances are! You got that, Mister?" After the rage left him, and my butt quit stinging he explained to my why. Real men don't hit women, only cowards do.
Guys that do this should be left to me. I'll settle the score. I'll beat the slimey SOB into next week. To me, that the most egregious thing a man can do, short of murder.

JFK JR. probably had his flaws (poor judgement while flying being one of them) but that doesn't negate the weight of the accumulated evidence that he was at heart a pretty decent guy. There have been people on FR who knew him who confirm that.I never met him, but I agree with that assessment. I never heard liberal crappola come out of his mouth, not once. He seemed to me to be basically interested in keeping a low profile and minding his own business. In fact, I often got the impression he was embarrassed by his relatives, and by the Democrat Party for what it has become. He was not a mean guy.
Now Caroline, if I am not mistaken, she has gone goofy.

I still like some of Browne's music, but have grown past the stage where I expect to find secrets of life in a pop song, although I was probably worse than most about that in the early seventies when I listened to himThere's a lady plays her favorite records
On the jukebox every day.
All day long she plays the same old songs
And she believes the things that they say.
She sings along with all the saddest songs
And she believes the stories are real
She lets the music dictate the way that she feels
It's only music, only jukebox music, only jukebox music.
It's only music

Thanks for the lines. Hadn't heard them before.
If I don't watch myself I can still get some of the old songs going and start thinking like an idiot college sophmore.

Wasn't it Dennis Leary that said, "If they can sue Judas Priest for making someone turn to Satan, then why can't I sue Jackson Browne for turning me into a wimp in the 70s?"
