EXACTLY.

granted it's a strange. However, I am leaning toward this being another "anchor" as RGSpinich (sic) put it...

I mean, he knew someone who disappeared a few years ago, and now his wife and baby are also missing. What are the odds? My little brother used to watch me hop the neighbors fence to get plums, I never got caught. After a couple of years he tried it and got caught. Neighbors said his feet must be shrinking because they saw a larger tennis shoe print in the mud the year before. : )
In other words SP saw somebody get away with murder and it could have encouraged him to try it.

Ask Bill Clinton!

Did you ever have Allen, Holscher or Chang?
Chang was great and could teach a LOT to the junior detectives posting on these threads...
Rustigan is up at SFSU now...Allen used to make fun of him all the time about the book he keeps saying he was going to write and never did.
Rustigan was a lot of fun, definitely a crackup. You can find a lot of quotes by him if you just do a internet search of his name.

Good teachers are so hard to come by.....

Yes, the anchor analogy is a good one. I think it's more likely that too.

Murderers for financial gain don't want to wait years to collect. But neither do insurance companies want to pay out DI files in the case of murder, do they? It still doesn't make sense to me. I would think the ins. co. would wait to see if the husband can actually be CLEARED of the crime first.

Cal Poly is a small school and SLO is a small town...

Local radio news in L.A. here is reporting that "Scott Peterson was having an affair on December 24, the day that Laci went missing ," and then they mention showing the parents the photos. Two hourly newscasts, at least, have gone by with that wording. They make it sound like they have proof that he was WITH HIS HONEY on the day Laci disappeared. Did the girlfriend talk, and say she saw him that day? What did he do, bury Laci during the night, shower, and go have some "fun" while the souls of his innocent wife and child rose to heaven??

Please see post #100! This is the first I've heard that SP actually knew the missing SLO student. Hmmmm. Indulging my suspicions, foul play at ASU leads to a hasty departure. But getting better at it (ala Ted), more foul play at SLO (and elsewhere?). But on sopme level recognizing his problem (ala Ted), he tries to go "legit" with a marriage, but his dark impulses prevail once again, this time for financial reward and relief from marital responsibility. The circumstancial evidence to date would IMO lead a reasonable person to suspect that there is more going on here than just a minor character flaw.

Any death except from disease would pay double. So he is in the clear to collect a half million, except for the problem of two motives (money, girlfriend). An insurance company will hire its own investigators to keep from paying.
In one case the perps killed a bum and dressed him in the "dead man's" clothing. They shot him and burned down the barn on him. A few flaws killed their claim. The bum was seen in town before he died. The death was from a gunshot and not from the fire. And also the family had a lot of debts. Once again the death claim was sky high. It's even better to live and stage one's own death - until the police arrive.

""Scott Peterson was having an affair on December 24, the day that Laci went missing ," "
Thanks Yaelle, that's big news.
I wondered about that!! The mud didn't match..he didn't go fishing at all! I figured if he didn't go fishing he was spending Christmas eve w/his girlfriend.
Ping to Diverdogz...Sounds like you were right..I betcha that the mud was on the vehicles PRIOR TO the 24th.

KING:....For example, a tabloid, one tabloid reports that Laci always opened the drapes when she was home during the day, but said the drapes were closed all that day. Do you know anything about what that means?
S. ROCHA: No, like I said I didn't read that tabloid.
KING: Does anyone have any comment on that?
A. ROCHA: You can't see the drapes from the street.
S. ROCHA: There are no drapes.
GRANTSKI: I don't think any -- if they had a set routine. I don't know how someone can keep track of whether they open the drapes normally or not. I mean, if they are watching the house that close, then they should know where Laci is. (UNINTELLIGIBLE) you know, if they watched the drapes that close, why don't they find Laci for us?
This is a partial transcript from Larry King Live January 13th, where Laci's family was in total denial that Scott could be involved. Even to the point of not saying the Drapes, were in fact Blinds that were closed.

Thanks Spec, I heard them talking about the curtains on fox news earlier this afternoon.

What a silly thing to say. I look at my neighbors' houses all the time; if something is wrong, I want to help them. And I hope they notice mine!
BTW, the first thing I do in the morning is open the plantation shutters in the front!
