Just the latest example of the Washington Post's fair and balanced reporting. You've got to admire a news organization that can lay its bias aside and write objectively on the issues of the day.

You gotta love the fact that adults will be running Maryland, for the first time in a generation! (unless you're the biased Washington Post or the blatantly racist Baltimore Sun)

The adults have arrived in Maryland, and the entrenched Democratic beaurocracy is starting to get their long-overdue pink slips.

"...Natural Resources Secretary J. Charles Fox, who referred to those being terminated as "my top four women."

Where is N.A.G. when a Dimocrat makes a sexist remark like that?

Didn't you get the memo? Sexist and racist remarks are only inflammatory if they're made by Republicans.

"These are not political employees," said Natural Resources Secretary J. Charles Fox, who referred to those being terminated as "my top four women."

"These are longtime government career employees who have dedicated their lives to public service," Fox said.

The most amusing irony in these comments is that two of his "top four women" were significant members of KKT's campaign staff. Karen White served as her most visible campaign spokeswoman.

The Washington Post is a paper for government workers, and other people whose livelihood depends on the government.

Paring the work force is quite a reasonable response to Glenspending's last-minute pay raise for state workers.

Yes, a good start. And don't worry, Ehrlich will be thoroughly cleaning house. (36 years of decay takes some time to clean)

Charles Fox was appointed Secretary of the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) by Governor Parris N. Glendening in August 2001. Under President William J. Clinton, Mr. Fox held three key federal positions with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Md.'s change of power is creating job anxiety

'At-the-pleasure' workers unsure how long they can depend on state paycheck

By Sarah Koenig

December 26, 2002

Natural Resources Secretary J. Charles Fox has already scored another job, at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. For top-tier officials such as Fox, the inevitable change-of-government job search can present lovely opportunities rather than sleepless nights.

"dedicated their lives to public service"
should read: "suckling from the taxpayers' teat"

It's good work, if you can get it. Virtually no expected output, nice benefits, lots of holidays. And with Democrats in charge you never have to worry about losing your job or having accountability for anything.

If a Democrat did this amid heavy budget deficits he would be "boldly rolling up his sleeves and making painful cuts for the benefit of the state"

Gotta love bias.

"Thirty years ago, our nation adopted the Clean Water Act and established ambitious goals for better water quality," said Department of Natural Resources Secretary J. Charles Fox. "We have made significant progress. Looking forward to the next 30 years, it will take continued strong leadership to provide clean water for our community and our living resources."

I guess before they got involved we all used polluted water./sarcasm
