Ms. Wolf is committing the old leftist error of extrapolating from New York City for the rest of the country and indeed the world. But Babylon is indeed falling.

Naomi Wolf...wasn't that Al Gore's advisor?

Naomi Wolf...wasn't that Al Gore's advisor? Indeed. Which is worrying. If someone like that is appalled by the immorality she found then how appalled would us lot be?

If you've gotten this far, you probably read the whole article. Sorry. If it makes you feel better, I read it as well and still don't know the point. I think it was, "people screw more now, but my generation had casual sex with more soul", or something like that.

We are so tightly scheduled, one young woman explained. Why get to know someone first? It is a waste of time. If you hook- up you can just get your needs met and get on your way. Ludicrous Rationalization of the Week.

Naomi has been watching HBO too much.

I started to read the article. Then, I realized that she is (a) a feminazi, and (b) a former advisor to Alwhore.

This sounds like one of those classics of news hackery where anecdotes become the truth.
Here's the original, by the way. I haven't read it, and don't intend to. New York is not a very good magazine.

Sex and The City being in its last season is really hitting them hard, isn't it?
To: Rightone
What an idiot. Actually she's not. Immoral perhaps - she's a leftist, after all. And damn cute...

I started to read the article, and then I realized that I have long rejected everything it has to say.

"Casual sex is back...But this time its got no soul."
She's presuming that it had soul to begin with?
Is she nuts, or just wishes she was king?
I laugh at the lefties when any of them finally discover just how much of an abomination they are..

Yeah, leave it to the hippie maggots to pretend that casual sex was so much more "meaningful" when they were doing it.
They're into "meaning" even if it revolves around their zippers, you know. Those nitwits are deep, man.

The "sexual revolution" of the 60's was supposed to "liberate" us from staid, obsolete social concepts. We were assured that those mores were relics of a bygone age, and that only splendor would result from their retirement.
Instead of sexual Nirvana, we got teen pregnancy, epidemic rates of VD, and divorce levels that dissolved the traditional bonds of family.
Then AIDS set in and a few harsh realities began to be whispered in the chic set. Maybe random casual sex was a biological Russian roulette. Maybe sex was better with something more than just biology behind it. Maybe a knobber in the cloakroom wasn't a good way to say "hello."
Now we're being liberated right back into hell again. Thank goodness for "progress!"

I can't wait for this woman to hit menopause. Maybe that will slow her down.

Didn't NW do an essay on abortion a few years back that was painfully honest? Like this one? She's on the other side, but she's no idiot.

I don't think she's appalled by what she found. Just confused, and as always for a lefty, afflicted by a thinly veiled envy.
