The sun slowly rises over the Rocha family dairy west of Escalon. It is a frosty morning in the early 1980s. Hundreds of cows stand in a vast, steaming sea of mud and manure. It ain't the Ponderosa but could be pretty substantial.

LOL The value is in the land. Dairy farmers in Escalon are competing with developers and crops. The Rocha's sold out somewhere along the way. A couple of hundred acres could go for about $2 million according to
sources. It's not unreasonable to think that Laci's dad could have bankrolled their business venture in San Luis Obispo or even cosigned.

To: RGSpincich
You are correct about the value of the land plus the Portuguese Dairy Farmers I know around here are very frugal during the "good years", even the young ones. Did you say they sold the ranch or could sell the ranch?

Scott's father Lee Peterson owns a packaging manufacturing company in San Diego. They have been the one's described as "wealthy". They gave Scott and Laci seed money to buy the Shack in SLO.

Thanks for the heads up on that.

You have ties to some of these folks? I noticed your page on Laci's dissapearance, very well done.
To: NormsRevenge
I have never heard a mention if Laci had her own cell phone. If she didn't she is a raity in todays times.
To: RGSpincich
dissapearance = disappearance. I knew there was two of something.
To: tubebender
they sold the ranch or could sell the ranch? A recent article said that he used to raise dairy cows. I'm assuming they sold it.

I heard one or both of you is/are maintaining a ping list. Please put me on whatever ping lists exist for this case.
I'm already on Alexandra's. To all 3 of you, I appreciate the ping lists! Thanks!

"Ever hear of the Chubby Checker's song "Yer Feets Too Big"? "
I remember that song...and the sesamee street 'skit' with a muppet with huge feet since that was 25+ years ago...it must have made an impact....

$10,000 an acre is probably on the low side depending on the type of soil but of course developers don't care unless they can sell the top soil. Vineyards can go for $20,000 and up.
The KTVU 2 news didn't have any thing new except the Baby Shower that didn't happen.

"I am more worried about the amount of experiance in these types of cases."
I was on a jury in my foo foo town where the local PD called in some San Jose homicide detectives for just that reason.
my town would be better off with a concierge service than a police dept., with some of the whiny, entitlement obsessed residents.
To: NormsRevenge
I am waiting for Geraldo to solve the case!
