That all said, I think the reason Tom Daschle isn't running is that Hillary is standing on everyone's funding air hose. We won't know for months whether she'll run in '04 instead of '08 as originally planned (according to official rumors); but I'll wager that until she does decide, we'll see a procession of guys bumping themselves off because, until Hillary jumps, nobody else will be able to get into the Hollywood and Silicon Valley honeypots that she and Bill control through McAuliffe.

I think you got it in one. That all said, let's investigate Mrs. Daschle anyway -- more fun! And it'll maybe get Tommy off Bush's judicial appointees' necks.
Plus, we can all watch CBS and ABC giving themselves bad backs, bending over backward not to cover the story.
I like your reasoning, but in DC, power counts more than income, and if she's sucking down the big cash, he's the one with the stroke. So what if she has to give up a profitable practice, if he runs? She'll catch up later, for sure. And so will he.
Oh, wait though, if he still knows Charlie Trie and Pauline Kanchanalak, maybe he doesn't have to wait until he's out of office. Maybe the Riadys would tide him over, like they did all those FOB's.
You apparently haven't heard.......laws only apply to you and me .....not to the privileged, protected political class (or to their spouses).
