Leather pride posted some very "provocative" pictures -- spammed them. Seems like the moderators had taken a layoff for a while. Egad. Nothing's more depressing than pictures of homos in leather.

Should each freeper have made his own decision, once seeing them, to click the scroll bar and remove them from view? The moderators, ashamed to have such photos on FR, removed that liberty.

The dead boy in the wastebasket is a clue. A low class stripper was his mother -- she tripped into the libertines' gutter. Liberty can not survive the libertines. A society of full individual Liberty is viable only when those individuals have high standards of morality. The overwhelming majority -- only some insignificant minority without that standard.
The more (morally questionable) libertine behaviour we individually tolerate or chose, the more Liberty we sacrifice in order to have any non-murderous social order.

One case proves nothing; what you'd need is evidence that strippers commit such acts proportionally more often than non-strippers of similar background, education, etc. There is no obvious connection between not disapproving of stripping and not disapproving of lethal child abandonment---nor much connection between anti-stripping laws and individual attitudes toward stripping.

Ah come on you two ... you know better than that. Strippers are not -- for the most part -- the world's best decision makers, I mean they are pretty bad in making important decisions about their lifes. I'm speaking of US culture 2K era.
Typical lap dancer has all sorts of problems in her life -- drugs, debt, health, lousy boyfriends or even husbands.

I regret asking that first question, because I don't want to answer that natural follow-up you just asked.

Strippers are not -- for the most part -- the world's best decision makersSo the Nanny State should strip them (no pun intended) of their decision-making authority?

I didn't raise that question, nor infer its premise from anything I have said. I do not have hard stats, just some common sense and experience that I am confident is representative.

I didn't raise that question, nor infer its premise from anything I have said. Then what was your point---why did you think your statement contradicted anything HG or I have said?
