He probably just thinks that because a cop told the kids and the small business owner something, they should automatically obey. After all, police never misuse their authority.

BTW, I played paintball yesterday with a bunch of old farts that get together once a year to do this, somewhere around the holidays. Lots of teenaged sons with us, including mine. Our group had around 40, and there were at least another 50-60 in other groups, mostly of "regulars".

Had a great time. This was about the 8th or 9th year we've done this. One good bruise on the left "love handle". ;-)

3-4 years ago, I was at the athletics building at my son's school, waiting for him to come out of the locker room after practice. A couple of kids were sitting on the floor, leaning against the wall, reading what I realized was a paintball equipment catalog.

I asked "how much have you got in your paintball gun".

The kid scratched his head, thought about it for a minute, and replied "about $800".

I asked "how much have you got in your paintball gun".

Lukes parents got him a electronic trigger assembly for one of one his five guns. These kids have more money in these guns than most hunters invest in "real guns" The first thing I bought was a chronograph for checking hot guns when they play here.

Dang kids today with their fancy expensive paintball guns. When I was a kid we did "battle" with dirt-balls and mud-clods. Maybe not as accurate as those fancy pink-colored paintballs but they sure did pack a wallop even with high-trajectory indirect fire. Ahhh......the good old days.

I've recently taken it up myself. Great excercise and it helps to have friends that own large plots of wooded lands so a group can get together and play for free.

Plus, there are several fields whithin 5 miles of the house to pick up paint and get gas cannisters charged.

If you want to come out and play a round or two without having to pay a field fee, let me know. BTW..Know what you mean about the love handle shot, I took one today.

But it's much safer and empowering for them to go after kids. There are too many Barney Fifes out there who get a real charge out of flaunting their authority. Obey the laws and expect the enforcers of law to do the same. It doesn't sound like the kids were breaking any laws. They clearly acted outside the scope of their authority and need to pay the consequences

Sledge, the advise that you have seen here is good. Clean up that rant! By the way, there was no entrapment, clean up that rant again, get it proofread. Send it to a sympathetic reporter or two and have an attorney draft a threatening letter for about $75 bucks. Have all the kids family and friends call or better yet write city hall about this. Be sure that they request a response. Bury them in a blizzard of paperwork. And yes, have them Freeped by all means.
