Why pay the buck? I've bookmarked their web site and visit it often. The libs at the Science Forum, for god's sake, are basically nice except for the political rabble that infest all of the newspaper. I derive great joy from lurking and dinging them, (the libs), whenever possible.

The Price of the Voice of: Abortion, Gay Rights, Anti America/Americans, Pro Islamofacism and other left wing isms just went up.

The readership of the NY Slimes like those voters in the Rat Party who can read is dropping.

Decades of abortion and pushing the deadly Gay life style is decimating their readership and the population of the Rats. Add to that, the dumbing down by their beloved NEA warehouses posing as schools, all left wing fish wraps are in serious financial conditions as readership due to their agenda drops. The new rats can't read anything as complex as the NY Slimes.

They have probably done focus groups of the infected maggot readers who are addicted to the NY Slimes. Those focus groups have shown that these maggots will pay anything for their Slimes like those who addicted to nicotene. So this is the first big racheting up of their newstand costs.

This works in the short run, but it drives away new readers and the unaddicted readers.

Even prostitutes have to make a 'living wage,' and the Old Grey Whore is no different.

A failing newspaper has to raise its price to offset loss of advertising. Outstanding!

Way too expensive to be used to start a nice fire at home, but not too expensive for hollow Starbucks patrons.

Still a staple for would be intellectuals and those who think they are smarter and more tasteful than the herd.

"This sounds like a sound business decision, that as an ancillary beneifit to conservatives, reduces NYT exposure."

Exactly my take on this. They've already cut staff. They can't downsize any further than they already have. And relocating to lower production cost is not practical in their business. That leaves them with only one option, which they've invoked. The problem is that it perpetuates the vicious circle they've in. The 5 or 6 million in boosted profits is nothing. The Times' other operations will increasingly have to support this failing newspaper.

It seems Catherine Mathis will lie to you for $4 bucks, if you want to buy her services.

It really is comical, how the yuppies and campus liberals make "staying home with the Sunday Times," even here in the midwest, de rigeur. And they also exert themselves to insure that their
sympaticoes are aware that they do this (or say they do.)

Quite the quaint little ritual among the Annointed Ones, epecially since they have nothing else to do on Sunday mornings.

...."But...but...but, I was referring to the New York Times!" I then tell her that I consider the editorials of Pravda to be more fair and balanced and she is wasting her time. Once in while I get a response about my lack of "sophistication".

I get calls from them too, here in VA. I told them they were far too Liberal for my taste. They said " Well, that's a new one..." I said yeah right....
