Proverbs 10:7
¶The memory of the just
is blessed:
but the name of the wicked
shall rot.

"" "b) place little value on your life and c) living on borrowed time." The answer is both (b) and (c). We are all living on "borrowed time" friend, I am, you are, we have no promise of another breath. As for "placing little value on your own life" well that is called christianity.""

Amen. Christians have died to this world, and live through the Spirit of God. By serving Christ and showing His love - by being like Him and willing to have their bodies killed to show that love - we only do our duty, no more.
I'm often shamed by my own cowardice when I hear about these Christians.

The Southern Baptist International Mission Board prepares their missionaries to work in hostile areas. The missionaries are trained to determine risk in their area. The Martyrs and others in Yemen appear to have been performing miraculous services over the past 35 years. Their work has prevented a generation of terrorists from breeding in their area. When real people witness the work of real Christians, they can not help but see that they have been misled by their Muslim leaders.

The reported murderer came from outside the area. I would not be surprised if it comes out that he was sent in by bin laden to attempt to remove this shining example of Christianity in order to breed terrorists in this area just as he has done in other areas. We owe a debt to the Martyrs in Yemen and I pray that there will continue to be men and women who hear the calling.

I have a friend who is a computer networking administrator with the SBIM here in Richmond, my in-laws have been working with Wycliffe Bible Translators (a non-denominational mission group) for over 40 years.

Both these, and all other Christian mission organizations have seen incredible amounts of persecution around the world. As a matter of fact it is estimated that more Christians have been martyred over the last century than in all other centuries combined. Nevertheless there never seems to be a loss of new mission volunteers, and new converts. Something comes to mind about the power of God, being stronger than the will of man. Historically its at times like these that the church has been it's strongest. It is a testament to the sovereignty of God.

Before Alaska makes another witty remark, I ask that you remember that the people you are referring to are worthy of some respect. I know one of the staff members and also know of the massive sacrifice that person has made to help the people of Yemen both physically and hopefully spiritually as well. It would have been easier to stay at home, make a good living in healthcare, watch children and grandchildren grow. Instead, they made a choice to follow a calling that very few of us would ever have the strength to.

"Stupid"... why use this word? Does it fill a void left by envy? Does Alaska need to degrade others because of his (or her) own issues? My hope is that it was just a quick inadvertent joke that was badly timed.

Here's an idea. Celebrate their strength of character, their integrity, and their willingness to help other even at their own peril AND ask where that strength and commitment originates.

I hope you just clicked my post by mistake.
I wouldn't dream of doing any thing but praise these people.
