More destruction of history in the name of political correctness. While not on the scale of the Bamiyan Buddhas, it is possible to link the thought process used to decide to destroy something historically significant that you personally don't like.

On the Dillinger episode on PBS's "The American Experience" series...it was shown how the female head of police (sheriff?) for (IIRC) Crown Heights (or Crown Point?) was in charge when Dillinger made his escape...
pretty amazing when even PBS will broadcast such a thing...
