I voted for Bush, and don't regret it even though not everything I want done is being done. Why? Because the only other person who was going to be elected in that race was Gore. Bush is better than Gore any day.
How can one buy movie rights to a FR thread?

Maybe, but I am about sure that a box knife would set off the metal detector.
I guess it depends on how the sensitivity is set, but it wasn't uncommon for smaller metal items to set ours off.
Ironically, our knife sharpening service (yes, all kinds of ways to become a bidness man in the US) went right through security with his open box of knives till passengers complained. (LOL!)
After that he had to drive out to the concourse with an escort.

Clicking to your FR homepage does a lot to clarify your attitudes towards people and life.
Don't they have humor where you live?

This:
" Somehow, this guy calls up, and they say that to him? But not us? Yeah, right. We all wish it were that easy. The guy who wrote this story is lying. "

What, as "federalized" screeners?
Hell no.
There can't be "perfect" safety when you toss in the human factor, it's impossible and even if it weren't people wouldn't stand for it.
They just want the illusion of safety.

Glenn said: (LOL):"Guarantee me there will never be another attack on American soil by a cell of terrorists because the TSA exists or because there is cabinet level post for Homeland Security. I dare you." HOW OLD ARE YOU? No one has ever said there will never be another attack on American soil. There almost cerainly WILL be one. No matter if there's a "Department of Homeland Security" or a "Department of Holistic Serenity". You seem to think that we should all just bend over and enjoy getting shafted by these demonic freaks without even trying to protect ourselves. Sorry, pouf, but that's totally whack, & we aren't buying it.

I'm not saying the screeners were the whole problem, pre 9/11, just part of it. We should have been profiling Arab/Muslim men long before that, but we were naive.

I dunno. I know I never took one with me through the checkpoint or in my carry on just in case.

No, but once it was determined that she was pregnant, and not carrying a small nuke, why the continued harassment? They didn't further harrass her. She was finsihed, sitting alone waiting for her husband. She had a tear over that pat down and her husband went off.
