Close, but no cigar..
Regardless of the racial makeup of the school in question, the net effect is to put the emphasis back on academics as opposed to skin color.
Thus, it's not "affirmative action" as we know it today.

He could have discussed Jackson's "Hymietown" comment, Sharpton's Tawana Bradley incident, the "white nigger" episode (and yes, if it's OK for a US Senator to use that word, then it's OK for me to use that word), and FOUGHT for himself. Yes, but he would have been accused of passing the buck, which would not sit with him well, either. You know, like everybody does it.

ALL issues dealt with on a Presidential level are big ones, aren't they?
I see you are at least thinking about my last post. I sincerely hope you are, at least.

Yeah, but he didn't "do it"
Even Tom Daschle came out and said he just made a mistake.
The perfect opportunity to return fire.

I had this thought today: Perhaps the Dems will use us against ourselves. Maybe we should just keep our mouths shut. This entire incident was caused, stirred up and decided by Conservatives, probably we, ourselves on FR. Something to think about. In certain ways, the Libs have less power than we think they do, so they give us enough rope to hang ourselves. Let's refuse.

You're right.
Regardless of Lott's leadership skills, we did hang ourselves to some degree here.

I posted from your link what I said because I don't hide from it.
Good to know exactly where you stand -- against Bush.
On this matter and CFR and Islam is peace I don't agree with what he said and did.

No, lets finish the rats off.
We keep this S___ up and they will be mopping the floor with our agenda.
We don't even have a working majority, just a numerical one and we barely got that.

but it wasn't because we talked about it, it was because we didn't come together over it.

Well, if we keep this up we can all "come together" outside the Senate, press our noses against the glass and see what laws the rat majority happen to be passing on a particular day.

To: Howlin; All
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.
Sincerely, December31, 1999
Let's hope for the best.
A special wish for our own Howlin, without whom, FR would not be as good as it is. Good night.

The perfect opportunity to return fire. I am probably going to get in trouble again but what the hey. Lott was doomed from the start. Once the charge of "racist" is placed into circulation there is nowhere for a republican leader to hide or no explanation that will be acceptable. The entire process was predictable because it is a tried and true strategy. Lott was latest in a long string of victories. Lott is gone and that is a good thing but what are we going to do the next time? Is Frist going to face the wrath of single-issue forces on abortion from the right AND the left? If so what have we gained?

You know, watching these threads of yours these past few days, has helped me to finally understand why the Roman Coliseum used to sell out on a pretty consistent basis.
Thanks.
