Dear Senator

I am extremely upset at you for making comments that seem to cast Osama Bin laden in a positive light.

According to transcripts of a visit to Columbia River High School, you made the following comments:


"We've got to ask, why is this man (Osama bin Laden) so popular around the world?," said Murray, who faces re-election in 2004. "Why are people so supportive of him in many countries … that are riddled with poverty?     "He's been out in these countries for decades, building schools, building roads, building infrastructure, building day care facilities, building health care facilities, and the people are extremely grateful. We haven't done that.     "How would they look at us today if we had been there helping them with some of that rather than just being the people who are going to bomb in Iraq and go to Afghanistan?"


Osama Bin Laden is a murdering propagandist who fans the fires of ignorance through anti-semitic rhetoric as well as calls for the death of innocent Americans and the destruction of the United States. I find your inaccurate description that Osama has been a philanthropist of some sort just plain discusting.

Bin Laden has a following because he appeals to ignorant uneducated brainwashed people. When 3000 were killed on 9/11 his supporters cheered. They are blood thirsty savages becasue they hate jews. The only schools are day care I am aware of that Osama has funded are relgious Madrass schools that teach anti-semitic hate, and a teaching of the Koran that advocates destruction of all other religions.

In addition, you can see images of the type of children Osama helps here. Children dressed up with toy suicide bombs and machine guns, training to kill jews.

The fact that you, as a US Senator, could make such ignorant statements is mind boggling. Your apology should be forthcoming to the American people immediately. Many will suggest your comments are in fact worse than the recent Trent Lott controversy. Considering that we are at war as a result of Osama Bin Laden, I think your resignation from the Senate would be a positive step for America.

Someone once put it this way: the Swedes are the most unreligious people in the word, the Indians, the most. The United States is a country of Swedes ruling over Indians. Except that socialism is a religion of sorts, or something that emotionally substitutes for it. Our capitalist upper class sends their kids to schools and colleges which is staffed by people who loath capitalism. Their kids kids come out conflicted: the wealth they enjoy is generated by a capitalist system that they have been taught to hate for its injustices. For most of them, their "liberalism" means nothing more than cocktail chatter and voting for the Democratic Party. Those who go into politics, however, tend to become true believers. Never mind that Iraq is ruled by a person as vicious as Hitler, who like Hitler may be willing to destroy his country if invaded. Somehow the United States is worse.

'Outrageous and Despicable'

Chris Vance, chairman of the Washington State Republican Party, said Murray’s comments were not only offensive but untrue.

"It is absolutely outrageous and despicable to imply that the American government should learn a lesson from the madman who murdered thousands of American citizens,” said Vance. "I know Senator Murray has a habit of sticking her foot in her mouth, but this goes way beyond a simple gaffe.

"Patty Murray sent the message to these students that the United States somehow deserved or brought on the September 11 terrorist attacks. I think all decent people can agree that we most certainly did not, that this was an unprovoked attack of terrorism.

"And where on earth does Senator Murray get the idea that Osama bin Laden built roads, schools and day cares? He ran terrorist camps in Afghanistan that trained the killers who carried out the 9/11 monstrosities. It is the American government and the American people who lead the world in helping people of impoverished countries, not murderers like bin Laden.

"If Patty Murray really believes what she said, she should think twice about running for re-election. It’s one thing for her to be wary of engaging in war, but to say these kinds of outrageous and untrue things is just beyond the pale.”

Bin Laden's version of Islam tells Muslims that "people in the West are trying to attack your religion (and) oppress you, and the only way to fight that is to rise up against the United States and its crusader buddies, Israel and Europe," Swetnam said.

There's no great mystery why they hate us. Here are a few reasons:

1) We are the infidel (non-muslime)
2) Our women are free to act like shameless whores
3) We support Israel
