This is probably the most interesting thread I've read in a a long time. I am just old enough to remember when the Mass was all in Latin and I still feel nothing but disgust for the "Kumbaya crowd". Seriously, I would have been more ready to beatify Jim Morrison or Jimmy Hendrix. Or Benny Goodman for that matter.
What were these dorks thinking? You try to take a timeless religion and freeze it in one obscure moment in musical history -- then choose a moment that gives most people the dry heaves?
So much for personal rants against Vatican II.
My research finds no real contemporary relation between Saint Death and Santeria. Some of the concepts are the same, but so are the tails on a dog and a monkey. Not to mention my own vestigial coccyx bones. One more body part to worry about when a horse teaches me that humans do NOT fly...
