The head of the southern California chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union compared the arrests to the internment of Japanese Americans in camps during the Second World War. This analogy is utterly false in every conceivable way, not the least of which is the fact that the Japanese Americans were American citizens, and these Middle Easterners are illegal aliens.

Such selective roundups of illegals is wrong. U.S. law should be upheld uniformly. The legally correct option would be to roundup all 10 million or so illegal immigrants and deport them (regardless of conservative corporate and liberal labor outcry).
Such action would reinforce the quaint notion that the U.S. is a nation of laws not men.
