I must admit there is one group of people I really dislike and it's the rich, oily, self-absorbed politicians and not all of then are democrats (just about 90% are and then there's McCain & Co....) So, if this makes me a racist against that type of group, well, I guess I have to own up to it! But, I'm not ready to go hug a rich poli either!

Trent (and the GOP) could have seized this opportunity and forced the Democrats into a dialogue on racial relations in the US.

We missed a great opportunity to expose the left for the racial blackmailers that they are. We missed a great opportunity to remind Jackson that he marched arm in arm, with Jews in Palm Beach County, all memories of Hymetown forgotten. We missed a great opportunity to offer Al Sharpton the opportunity to apologize for Tawana Bradley.

We blew the opportunity to take the fight to them, and instead we have the leader of the Senate Republicans making serial apologies to anyone darker than George Hamilton.

I don't think Trent is a racist, I don't think he "longs for the days of Jim Crow", and I don't think the Dems think so either. But they have to seize on something to draw attention away from the fact that they are a Party without a message, or a leader for that matter.

That's what Trent handed them, in a silver platter...the issue that would draw attention away from their own shortcomings.

ann coulter slams Bush!

TRENT LOTT, call your office: Apparently some parts of American history can be sanitized and forgotten. Earlier this week, President George Bush issued a formal White House proclamation celebrating Kwanzaa.

snip

Now the "holiday" concocted by an FBI dupe is honored in a presidential proclamation calling it a "holiday that promotes mutual understanding." A movement that started approximately 2,000 years before Kwanzaa leaps well beyond merely "promot(ing) mutual understanding" to say we are all equal before God. It is so inclusive, people get mad at it. That movement is also celebrated this week.

But the Christian leaders at the forefront of the abolitionist and civil rights movements have been washed down the memory hole.
