I didn't mean to intrude. Maybe he's just as mixed up as everyone else is right now.

To qoute an old Star Trek line, "Norman, coordinate."

McConnell doesn't want it. Neither does Frist. The ONLY one who does, is Nickels and he is NOT going to get the SML !

What you see is what you see. What we saw Monday night was the largest conservative sell out in GOP and conservative, if not American history. The first 6 months of parliamentary maneuvering for economic, military and social issues will define the next election, which will either give us a Hillary or Bush 2nd term. The latter is imperative because if Hillary wins, we lost the House or Senate or both. Ineffectiveness or bad, liberal crap coming out of the Senate the first 6 months is death.

If Lott does stay as Leader, it'll be on some kind of probationary terms

The reason he wasn't challenged after Nov. 5 was because he *was* put on probation. Remember "we've circled the wagons around him"? That was the GOP Leadership talking about Lott then. This is where they show him the door, NOW!

"Lott spent whatever political capital that he had, and his credit limit is now 0."

He started at zero. JC Watts asked him to resign today, the majority of GOP Governors in DC for a national conference asked him to step down, the only conservative 'writer' that hasn't thus far is Paul Weyrich to the best of my knowledge. Do you fail to see what Lott has already done to the Party and conservatives? You underestimate what we're losing with Lott remaining in charge. Have you the BET trancript? Did you watch BET? We've been saying that Lott is a trainwreck waiting for an audience; it happened and it happened on BET Monday night.

"Trent needs to step down and sit his term out, not commit seppuku. He was elected by the people of Mississippi to the post of Senator, not Senate Leader, and he should be reminded that the has a moral obligation to his constituency to complete this term."

Trent said he has a 'contract with the pipple of MS and it run through 06'. He needs to step down yet honor his contract.

I'm sorry to hear the boys have no ambition.
Be interesting to see who steps up to the plate.

"I agree that in the first six months, he would have to build the planks of that platform and have them solidly nailed into place. That's why it is important that he resolve the question of Iraq, not necessarily have it over with, just the open question of whether we attack or not. It would also be good to have a few Judiciary nominations behind him, and more movement on tax reduction."

IMO, the 'tag' will be "it's the economy, stupid". If those initiatives aren't tackled now, he could win the war on terror but have 6, 7, 8+% unemployment and be done. Lott has killed effective economic reforms because the RATS will block and obstruct in a myriad of ways. A fast, clean start is EVERYTHING for the WH in '04. Lott needs to honor his contract with Mississippians yet let another lead and get the attention of this insanity.

The ONLY one, who wants the SML, is Don and he is hated by most other Senators. Also, the Dems have already dug up " dirt " on him and can't wait to let it all out; they've begun leaking some, in their heightened joy.

I can agree with that. We just have to recast it as Lott being cast aside for our reasons, and make sure the public "gets it." They are already receptive, I think, based on some poll numbers.

Ineffectiveness or bad, liberal crap coming out of the Senate the first 6 months is death.

I agree here, too. Throwing Lott out as a racist is more liberal crap.

I think Lott should be removed from leadership, too. He just can't be run out of town by Democrats. How do you think this would play out?

1. Lott doesn't step down immediately because that would be agreeing with the racism charges, and Lott would be shamed for the rest of his life.

2. Republicans express their outrage at Lott in no uncertain terms (behind closed doors if necessary).

3. Bush has a rousing State Of The Union Address, where he makes announcements of major initiatives.

4. Republicans have another leadership vote, in the name of retooling themselves to fit Bush's agenda (or some such nonsense that is focus group tested), Lott is replaced and is given some kind of "special project" to keep him occupied.

I understand that there is some significance to the Jan. 6 date, after which (I think) committee assignments are made and there would be no place for Lott to go. Otherwise, as long as it happens soon, what's the urgency? How can Lott be ousted that is a win for everyone?

I read and keep up with the news, but somehow I don't get this one. I don't understand what the brouhaha is all about. Wasn't Lott at the birthday party, and said if Thurmond had been elected president in 1948, this country would be better off? What am I missing? Is it racist because in 1948 Thurmond believed in segregation as it was the law of the land then? It all sounds like it's being blown way out of proportion unless I am missing something.

So take a few years off.

The rest looks perfectly coherent to me.

What can I help you with?

Isn't that the same Arlen Spector who was the great supporter of Ira Einhorn?

Why wouldn't any senator jump on this chance? Bunning? Kay Bailey? Sessions?
And the dems can take their dirt and stick it up their rears.
I tell ya, sometimes pols are just too thin-skinned.

Ann is a little on the thin side. She could stand an extra 10 pounds or so.

Fantastic one this week but too many rats are here after her

LOFL, yeah I've noticed that the scumbags always seem to show up for the Ann threads. Two reasons: First, Ann spanks them with 'truth' like nobody else, and second.... a whole lot of Democrats are fat, smelly women who post here while they're scarfing down bowls of spaghetti. They simply can't stand it that Ann is so attractive. These fat Democrat slobs are easy to pick out - - they are the ones who always call Ann "bony", or "scrawny", or use some other pejorative to describe her thin, beautiful, classy appearance.

Regards,
LH

Okey, your post #90 explained it. It's just as I suspected; it makes no sense.
