I remember when Nixon tried to "rap".
It wasn't pretty.
To: ken5050
He will say or do anything to stay in power.

I don't like this.
From what I saw on Brit Hume, he is apparently going to vow to lead some sort of civil rights movement.
Wait, Trent, that's been done.
Would he spend the rest of his term catering to the exact sort of Black movement and leadership which has done nothing but harm to the Black community?
Sounds like it.

According to CNN,he will come out for affirmative action"absolutely"!
Conservatives will see this as evidence he is a craven sellout while the blacks will see Lott as an opportunistic liar out to save his ass.
Both will be right.
To: ken5050
No, not reparations, but I bet he'll have some sort of affirmative action epiphany.

This was taped in advance. Chris Core on WMAL was talking in the last hour to someone who has seen the tape. Apparently they handled Lott quite roughly.

According to ABC poll, 51% of Americans think Lott should step down as leader. The report I just heard didn't say how many think he should stay, and how many are undecided. 1,000 polled, with 3% margin of error.

Does anyone else find it insulting that Lott could think that all black people watch BET.
To: ewing
He will throw himself at the mercy of liberalism, he will promise to endorse every program designed for minorities from hence forth. He will flog himself and lie prostrate at the knees of Black America. It will not be pretty!

Brit Hume reported that he said that the South has a problem with racism and that he is trying to change.
That SOB has now blamed the entire south for his problem. I resent the hell out of that.

We will not get anything passed if he remains as Majority Leader. He will be too sensitive to his own position to push anything. Time to go, Lott, for the good of your party.

I think the BET appearance was one of the things Lott arranged under White House orders. Maybe you should blame Karl Rove.

Does anyone else find it insulting that Lott could think that all black people watch BET.I would venture the guess that only the basest of race-baiters would utter such nonsense.

civil rights movement
and that would be bad? Who passed the civil rights act? Democrats or republicans. Its only natural that we finish the job that rats didn't and instead rats like the naacp kept the blacks down for 40 years with all their lies and BS!
Of course if he called for reparations I would have to slam Lott but GOOD!
