Three Cheers for the real Americans of Mr Simcox's Organization and Ranch Rescue as well.
The Feds want American culture to be watered down and Citizens to be un-armed willing victims of illegals. As long as there is big money to be made by Mexican crime families and/ or the Mexican Government .. oops sorry I repeated myself .... Big money and a complicit US Federal Govt. will ensure the borders stay wide open.
America needs more Citizen Miliia to clean up our borders.
Then they can think about cleaning up the crime belt called
Washington, Dc :).

One Reporter's Opinion - Citizen Militia on the Border
It is this reporter's opinion that I found it the height of hypocrisy when I read the headline "U.S. Plans to Seal Afghans' Porous Border." The plan is to slow the flow of illegals, illicit drugs, terrorists and contraband into and out of Afghanistan. The United States will finance the construction and maintenance of 177 checkpoints, staffed by 12,000 border police in that far off land.
The cost is staggering - each checkpoint and its facilities to cost an average of $300,000. It is to include offices, sleeping quarters, and, in some cases, clinics - this staggering expenditure to guarantee the sovereignty of Afghanistan.
Contrast this with the fact that our country cannot and will not, control the flow of illegal aliens across our own porous borders - 15 million illegals that have poured into the United States violating our sovereignty!
Where our government has failed us, several groups of patriotic citizens are taking up arms along the Arizona border with Mexico. One of these is Chris Simcox, a teacher-turned-newspaper-owner, who has formed the Tombstone Arizona Militia. Chris says,
"We will no longer tolerate the ineptness of our government in dealing with these criminals and drug dealers. It is a monumental disgrace that our government is letting the American people down, turning us into expendable casualties of the war on terrorism."
These armed civilian groups along our borders, providing civil homeland defense, are experiencing constant confrontations with illegals. There have been moments that bordered on extreme violence. It's bound to become more dangerous and, as one observer puts it, somebody is going to get killed.
Simcox, in a moment of frustration, told this reporter,
"I defy our president to arrest any of us for doing what the government refuses to do to protect the sovereignty of our beloved country. This land belongs to every citizen; it's OUR land. I challenge my government to come and arrest me. We are not 'crazies,' we are concerned citizens, we are responsible people."
The groups are growing. There are now more than a dozen known militia organizations - armed civilian groups - on the border. It's time Congress and the president become involved. Simcox says,
"I am trying to force the president of the United States to do his job. He took an oath to protect us from enemies. He has no business sending troops to foreign countries when he has not sealed our own borders."
If we can protect the porous border of Afghanistan, with 177 checkpoints and 12,000 border police, surely we can protect the border of the United States of America.

Since our government refuses to protect our broders, there is no other choice.

Kudos to you for making such a great point and also keeping a sense of humor about it. I can barely talk about that issue without cussing up a storm. If only more US citizens would take matters into their own hands to clean up so many messes that our governments won't handle for us.
I thank the Founding Fathers for the 2nd and 1st Amendments every day.

There is cause for celebration here. I hope the movement, and most importantly the attitude, spreads throughout the nation.

Well, is Simcox calling this thing a militia, or not?
If it's a militia, who appointed the officers?

To understand why the US is spending large amounts of money to secure the borders of Afghanistan and shows no interest in securing our own borders requires a small excursion into the official minset of the permanent government here in the national hindquarters. The first component is that powerful interests in both parties find virtual open borders attractive for different but cooperating interests. The Repubs ssee open borders as an endless payoff to the Business Roundtable members who are the party's financial mainstay. Corporate America sees virtual open immigration as a useful tool in holding down marginal wage rates and thus making thier products or services more competitive globally. There is no straightforward way to compute this but higher management does believe in a global sense that this is true. The Rats of course see the flood of third world immigrants as new rat voters to be atttracted by various welfare programs and opportunities for the gliber members of these groups to become full time ethnic poverty pimp hustlers.
The bureaucracy takes its marching orders from the political and economic governing class. The executive departments know that serious immigration control is taboo so problems of security are approached in a bassackwards manner. Since we controlling the borders is off the table for cogent political reasons we will attempt to surveil the entire population and try and find indications of terrorist plotting. To do this a new megabureaucracy will be established. It will offer all thhat abitious careerists could want., money, publicity, promotions and a mission so ambigious that it can be interpreted to suit any political pressure. Since the whole population is considered suspect, because to focus on the groups most likely to be contemplating mischief would be politically incorrect ethnic profiling the general populace will be considered to be equally suspect. This increses the potential'threst' base so the bureaucracy can always claim it needs more and more money. At the same time the ethnic enclaves that are where most trouble will be concocted are difficult to spy on since few US law enforcmnt or intelligence types speak the approproate languages and the base of intelligence data on how these groups function in their communities is very limited. Much easier to police are middle and lower middleclass white population groups. Since these people are mostly law abiding they provide lots of information for the burospooks to ruminate on and determine what activities are'suspicious'. Hence, for every latino gang automatic weapons investigation launched there will be a host of individual gun owners or rifle clubs who will appear as suspicious individuals or groups and give the snoops plenty of easy overtime money. A number of these people will end up before a federal magistrate due to the many adminsitrative laws in existence which it is virtually impossible to avoid breaking unless one is a virtual ascetic and hermit.
Providing the structure of border security for some distant foreign country suits all the elements of DC fine. It provides federal funds for capital goods purchases, it funds contracts at some think tank to pontificate on border security issues and it enables defense bueaucrats and contractors to have a high visibilty and remunerative contract to execute. There is also a class issue at work as well. The people who have suffered the most economic losses due to open immigration are the same people who will get the most attention from the homeland security snoops--blue collar lower middle class and middle class Americans. The white collar professional paper shufflers, snoops, and political hangers on share a generalized disdain for these people with their bureuacratic and political masters. The economic elite is full of the same contempt for normal working Americans as the political and bureaucratic types. If, some day an event such as the Klamath business spills over into a virtual revolt against the government al these people will be happy to unleash maximum violence upon the rebels--while the frontiers are still virtually open.

I caught Chris Simcox on Laura Ingraham's radio show the other night. Inarguably, what he is doing and why he is doing it, is righteous and extremely necessary. Lest we forget our own existence - when individuals stood up for themselves and fought off the British. All of this group's members have to obtain, on their own, a Class A license - which serves to clear the govt's own guidelines/prerequisites for issuing firearms. This, as he stated, weeds out any yahoos and/or criminals which may be interested in the cause for the wrong reasons. These are serious, level-headed people. This country was formed by the highest-spirited people, willing to risk everything for what they knew to be right. Anyone who lives in this country and enjoys the many freedoms it generously allows - and spews the view that these men (and women) should not be able to protect themselves, their families, their communities & their properties - have forgotten one extremely crucial fact: Freedom is not free.

This is from a CNSNEWS.com article posted elsewhere on FR. I would consider it a more accurate news service than most. I don't believe Simcox is calling his group a militia, but I could be wrong. And if I am, the downside is....what?
When neither of those things happened, Simcox organized Civil Homeland Defense, a group of more than 50 U.S. citizens who have trained and equipped themselves to patrol the U.S. Border with Mexico, and armed themselves for self-defense.
The group says it will be "humanely assisting those [illegal border crossers] who are attracted to them by way of making sure they have water and blankets and any immediate medical attention they may need." But members will also place the suspected illegal aliens under citizen's arrest and detain them for the U.S. Border Patrol.

Does anyone read this paper?Hillary Klinton considers it to be a radical element of the VRWC.
An impeccable endorsement, IMHO.
