Wolf stew. Yum.

Got it backwards.

Wear wolf, eat moose.

The program also revealed that other researchers, studying human genetics, had found evidence that humans came close to extinction between 70,000 and 80,000 years ago

Assuming one believes in evolution...

I saw one as I was driving out of upper MI last winter. Beautiful dark colored one. I know they've been multiplying, people up there who hunt have been seeing more and more of them.

There were 2000 humans left alive. What's that got to do with evolution? We're about the same now as they were.

Yep, but that is a long way from Yellowstone National Park. And I doubt you have many wolves around. I'll bet you have plenty of coyotes though.

A few years ago I heard a speech by the Alaska Attorney General.  He said that one of the "humane society" animal rights wackos -- Ingrid, if I remember correctly [and I'll say Ingrid & Co. hereafter to represent that group] -- was doing a mass mailing to GATHER FUND$ to advance the agenda of ANIMAL RIGHTS WACKO$ while saying it was for the benefit of animals.  These were sent to humane mailing lists and usually featured pictures of cute puppies about to be euthanized.  The mailings did and still do generate lots of MONEY for the ANIMAL RIGHTS WACKOS.  Those who give funds have no idea that Ingrid & Co. consider an animal life above a human life, oppose animal research to benefit human health even when 95% of research animals are rats, think a dog or cat as a pet is a prisoner in your home, and that if you drank a glass of milk this morning you are taking advantage of a disenfranchised cow which they want running free in the street like cows in India.

The issue Ingrid & Co. was complaining about was that she said the State of Alaska was going to do wolf shoots and hurt those poor animals and hunt them with snowmobiles and helicopter and gee isn't that mean of old bad Alaska so $END MONEY and we'll stop 'em.

She lied.

The Alaska Governor's office got more letters of protest regarding these wolf shoots than there are residents in the State of Alaska.  The Alaska Governor directed his office to immediately contact Ingrid.  It did so directly by phone and fax and stated emphatically that the State of Alaska is NOT GOING TO DO WOLF SHOOTS.  Nevertheless, after being confronted with TRUE FACTS from the Governor's Office, Ingrid & Co. continued the next day with yet another mass mailing saying Alaska was going to do wolf shoots, leading to the obvious conclusion that TRUTH never stands in the way of one with an AGENDA.

A sweet little old lady who used to live in Alaska told me that wolves can be a real problem there and given a choice between shooting one or letting it eat her grandchildren on the way home from school, she would shoot one.

The FBI has a "profile" on Animal Rights wackos.  Some things on the list are:  highly educated, usually homosexual, vegetarian, embrace eastern religions, frequently have bleached blonde hair and will do criminal acts to fulfill their purposes.  The FBI speaker was presenting info to people involved with animals about how to recognize a bomb sent by an Animal Rights wacko.  There was an armed policeman at the door and rioters outside chanting Animal Rights Wacko sayings and crying for "Freedom."  Lots of them were blonde.

I knew that wolf introduction could be a potential problem, if left unmanaged. But I never guessed it had gotten that much out of control! Just a few weeks ago; a wolf was found in Utah, I think in an eastern county. It was radio-collared, and was found alone. However, some other tracks were found; and it was believed that maybe he wasn't alone.

I'd heard that wolves travel in bands, so at some point on it's journey from Yellowstone; he must have had company. Well they caught and sedated him, then took him back. Then the first thing that happened, Ms. So and So animal-rights person from Idaho, had a fit! And this person lives and works in Idaho! (Good grief!)

She says that that wolf shouldn't have been taken back to the park! She claims to dictate to Utah Wildlife officals what to do with the wolves! She should be glad that the wildlife officials got to him instead of a rancher! The rancher or farmer could have shot him, and would have been justified, I think. She thinks that that wolf should have been allowed to stay, because 'Her Highness' thinks that there is plenty of room for this wolf and his associates to live and roam and prosper!

Someone should tell 'her highness' that she should mind her own business, and let Utah wildlife people handle the wild animals in Utah. If she is so worried about the poor wolf's welfare, why doesn't she get her butt down here, and help the officials take care of the wolves. She should be down here helping the farmers and ranchers deal with the wolves, or something! (rant over now, feel better!)

Actually, the wolves are already in Michigan's U.P. . I've seen a couple of them loping around ( One while driving east of the Seney ).

Not only that, but panthers have been sighted, although the DNR keeps denying their existance. I'm waiting for for the first fisherman to get mauled by one of those non-existant panthers.

wolves are damaging the environment.

Sorta like claiming "wildfires are damaging the envirnoment". Wolves are and were part of the environment. Man is the newcomer, and conflict ensues as man tries to control and modify the environment. If the re-introduction of wolves is changing a balance, that's probably because the balance was created by the artificial removal of wolves some time ago.

(Don't get me wrong. If wolves are causing a problem, shoot 'em. Just don't expect nature to bow to how you think it should operate.)

What if they introduced a species that never belonged there? I don't know where you live, but wild fires were natural where you live at one time. Would that be just putting the natural enviroment back in order?
