They don't get it.
In one breath they say they are not biased; they give the people what they want to hear; if their programming were biased, people wouldn't watch them.
In the next breath they say nobody is watching and they can't figure out why. They'll try anything EXCEPT balanced programming. As was pointed out, Mathews did fine when he went after Clinton's misbehavior.
They don't have to CHOOSE to put a conservative spin on the news. Just hire equal numbers of liberals and conservatives throughout the operation and let them all tell the truth as they see it without corporate interference. Their ratings would soar.
