Thanks for all the kind comments Freepers and I am trying to put out at least one Op-Ed Piece per week. I think it is time to show the liberal press and media that African American know what they are talking about when it comes to government and that Republicans know the games that Democrats try to play.

Nah!!! I respect my fellow Freepers and I always ask for their imput.

That is what I am trying to say, for 18 months we put up with smash mouth from the Democrats and now to try and play fair with those who don't believe in playing fair is silly.

President Bush and Congressional Republicans should be on the look out for the Trojan horses that Tom Daschle will send out... More like Trojan dung piles and Persian grubs.

I agree with you, that with the defection of Jeffords, the Democrats were provided an amazing opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to moving the country forward and keeping it safe, in a bipartisan manner. They chose instead to obstruct, play games, and whine, totally squandering the opportunity they had been given. The public understands this, and therefore put them in a position where their "bipartisanship" is no longer in the way. So I join you in saying, "To Hell with them." They had their chance. They did not lead. Hell, they wouldn't even follow. All they wanted to do was get in the way. |

I have to speak with some realism as I see it. First, the winners, aka, us, aka Republicans have to be careful about how they do things.
Notice, I did not say what they did, but rather how they do them. Bush and the WH were out front telling people not to gloat. Its wise. Very wise.
I think lots of Americans still have the view of electing one party just to spite the other, as in 'they balance each other out'. Its kind of stupid because nothing gets done.
Republicans should definately go about their agenda, but continue to act in a civilized sense and not go around rubbing people's nose in it in the outright name calling sense of the word. Republicans by all means should rub their noses in it, but they should do it with a smile on their faces and with a civilized tone. That IMO will get people to realize more than ever that democrat ideas are not the best ideas.
Its beating them by being smarter, not louder.
I think part of the danger is not in offending people by Republican ideas, but by partisan railings. If not careful the Republicans can offend not by what they believe in, but how they present themselves and carry themselves.
I would not call it bi-partisanship. Its hard to explain. But I think you get my drift.

Remember what happen to Bush 41 when he caved in to calls to work in a bi-partisan way with Congressional Democrats? They bottled up everything on the economy and then went out and whined in the liberal press about how bad it was and the lack of leadership at the time!

Re:
The Democrats came together at the time of the clinton Re: impeachment and formed what looked like an impenetrable bloc, always working together and never giving an inch to Republican compromisers. Isn't it funny that that same action still costs the party of adulerty and abortion votes ?

I've been ranting for a year that either Vice President Cheney or President Bush should take that little sh!t Daschle out behind the woodshed and preach a little "religion" to that little porcupine (as in prick).
Every time W says, "I'm a patient man," I pray that he's thinking about putting the Weasle back in his hole.

Just read the post TBM and it's right on mark. Agreed totally. However, the parable is a scorpion and something else in the Middle east. The parable explains why working together in the mid-east will never lead to success. I think the parable applies, but it is about the Middle East.

Yes. We should play the "gentlemen" and let the slimes throw mud at us. W has been doing this and the public is realizing that we're the "good guys" of character.
Further, As long as we have El Rushbo in our corner, he can stir the hornet's nest of the likes of Tiny Tommy and make him go whacko every few days. Rush lit his fuse twice in the last week. It was terrific. He did a trifecta when he was on Tim Russert's show yesterday. Rush whacked Daschle again!
Bottom line, Pubbies take the high moral ground, and let Rush and Hannity do the dirty work.

Outstanding, Trueblackman. This should be nailed to the office door of every Republican officeholder and read as part of their morning ritual.
