God bless that you are alive and on he mend to tell your story. Clearly you mean alot to the freepers here, BUT more importantly I think that you have touched many of us with your message. I faithfully have a physical every year, BUT managed to skip this one...too busy...will do it later. (and also a few concerns I'm not wanting to deal with) Mr. D. has been on my case....as often as yesterday....First thing next week the appointment is being made. thanks!

P.S. I was a 3 pack a day smoker for years, quit 7 years ago at 41 (after many failed attempts), did the gum and wrote a letter to myself prior to quiting as if I was telling a child or spouse that I loved...all the problems smoking was causing me, why I wanted to quit...etc.etc. I carried that letter around with me for a year...every time I had a craving I pulled it out... Well guess what...it worked...

May your recovery continue.

Glad to hear you made it through. My father died on the table and he was given a 95% chance of survival. He had 3 arteries blocked and it was going to be no big deal. Just retired a year earlier and died at the young age of 52. Must have been from that rich, white Republican lifestyle. It makes me smile to hear that you have a second chance. Don't waste it. I smoked 2 packs of Camels a day from age 16 to 34. I quit cold turkey about a year after he died. I realized I was not doing myself any favors. It's not that hard. If I can quit anyone can. Now I have to knock off the pizza. It was rough but the benefits are worth it. God bless and stay healthy.

God Bless You for sharing this with us. It is very encouraging that you fought through this and still have the energy to do that.

I quit smoking twelve years ago last week in the year my Mom died.

When I talked with her last she said she was glad she'd had all of us. What premonition.

Quitting smoking was a year of hell:

That is, a year of every waking moment thinking about smoking--and consciously deciding not to.

After rheumatic fever and months in bed as a child, I've kept up on the 3,000 mile check ups.

Diet and exercise, rest and abstaining from a panoply of poisons, and a renewable faith fed by stories like yours and storytellers such as you.

Happy Thanksgiving, and Thank You.

Ok. Read my lips . . .

between 11-10 [NOVEMBER 10, 2002] and 11-11 [NOVEMBER 11, 2002] I had a heart attack.

This refers to the overnight period when liberal dipshits nromally sleep

I spent 8 days in the hospital recovering from the initial heart attack and quadruple bypass surgery. [ Admitted to hospital on 11-11-02 at 2:35am released from hospital on 11-18-02 at 12:10pm do the math]

What an absolutely harrowing account of your ordeal. Thank goodness you have come through the valley, and are on your way to recovery.

I have a feeling you will save a life or two with your story.

This is almost exactly the same thing that happened to me. At 39 years old, during the last election fiasco.

Good luck mate.

So much of this sounds like what my dad went through. I am soooo happy things turned out well for you. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. Personally, I'd blame the Bears.
