Any government having this kind of power, without an expiration date/sunset clause, is dangerous.
Period.

I don't think we ought to shoot this lying propagandist bastard.
One of the side effects of the Bilderberger's mind-control satellites is that some susceptible people respond with paranoiac fantasies.
It's easy to identify them by the fact that their ravings never cite any proof. For example this poor soul quotes nothing from the very legislation he is 'explaining'.
Only a fool, or another one of the 3% of the population that respond to the mind-control transmissions this way, would fall for it.
BTW: new technology promises future transmissions will result in as few as 1% of the population suffering these paranoic effects. Of course, this technology is not cheap. New funds will have to be collected from the 'front' governments we've installed to publically rule the world.

Seriously, folks, this kind of hysteria is what gives conservatives a bad name. Fight the good fight over real issues, not over imaginary boogymen.
You have to seal the dam, or your windshield, at the FIRST sign of a crack... otherwise you have to replace the whole thing.

We'll see how you like it then. You sound like you can't wait so you can "show them".
LOL!

Oh, dear, how embarrassing for you.
To be funny humor has to have an element of truth in it.
Back to the drawing board, for you!

My wife and I had that same discussion last night. Just being a Life Member of the GOA is enough to put me on a federal list somewhere. I've also purchased firearms since the Brady Bill went into effect. So I'm on that list as well. I post here, and at a couple other pro-freedom websites, so I'm sure there is info on all that activity as well.
My wife assured me that if the worst does in fact happen, she's got my six and won't go any easier than I would.
We may be gone... but we'll at least make a statement on the way out.
Time will tell. Until then, I've got a life to live and can't spend every moment worrying about this. It's like a flat tire. If it happens, you do what you can to fix it and get on down the road. If it blows, and swerves you into the path of an on-coming semi, there just isn't much you can do except the best you can. Just because something like that MIGHT happen, doesn't mean you should be afraid to go out for a sunday drive.

You guys have gutted the Bill of Rights. I thought that wasn't supposed to happen if I voted republican in 2000. If this stands up in court, the country should not be called America anymore. This is the kind of secret thought police crap I thought was reserved for communist nations. I am dismayed that any of you would support it. If it came from a democrat, you would all be ready to riot. I am in shock.

The only time I have any fun is when everything is going to hell all around me. Good luck and easy living make me miserable.
Having the beast take over might be the best thing to happen to America. If we survive it.

I suppose what upsets me the most is that this kind of legislation is coming from my team. I would expect this kind of garbage from the other guys.
Not to mention it really does nothing to stop the real threat such as the borders or the INS-ult.

It isn't President Bush we're worried about. It's the next uber-liberal administration that dupes the voters, as Clinton did, and AlGore almost did.

As long as the government continues to leave the doors and windows to our house wide open, there will be no Home Land Security.

Powell is a danger to us all!Now you come to that conclusion? I've never been what would be called a 'bushbot' by some, but I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt when I voted for him in 2000. But when these 'acts' started appearing (Homeland Security, Patriot, etc) over a year ago, I finally admitted to myself the Republican Party had picked up and moved to the left. With the latest round of candidates offered in 2002, one can't honestly admit that there are many true conservatives in that bunch.
And now we come to the latest round. The verbal attack on Christians. The party is basically saying we don't need you as much as we did because we've picked up so much of the centrists. We'll call you extremist just like the Democrats did. It might not happen in the next election, or even the one after that, but it will happen.
