Actually, the rhetoric we see from the press isn't any worse that that generated by many Freepers (myself included) during the reign of his royal majesty William Jefferson Clinton the First. For example, just recall the adamant insistence that Clinton was going to pre-empt the 2000 election and reign as the first American monarch.
Hyperbole exists on both sides of the aisle. The difference is that the press claims to be impartial (and is not) while us Freepers make no bones about our biases.

"For example, just recall the adamant insistence that Clinton was going to pre-empt the 2000 election and reign as the first American monarch." You don't think Billy-Bob was trying to "pre-empt the 2000 election" the month before 11/5?
King Bill leads the ex-Presidents in refusing to STFU.

If I had not seen the byline on this piece I would have thought it was by none other than our most famous IronJack. Excellent, excellent writing - and the truth to boot. By the way, where are you, IronJack?

The article sabotages itself by pumping itself up with overripe metaphors and hot podium-thumping. It took him until paragraph #3 to give his first example and by the column's end, he only gave two. Also, the elections were, in fact, a mandate for Dubya. And when someone says: "It is not even worthy of serious rebuttal", it's clear that the person is either too lazy or lacks the acumen to give one. For persuasion, I'd give it a D-.

Forth Estate Er, would that be the Fourth Estate?

The media has become a lap-dog ever since the father Bush presidency. The last time the media was antagonist to the government was during the Reagan administration. Let me tell you why? Reagan was hitting hard against the communists in Nicaragua, and USSR. The communists elitists in the media were up in arms then.
During the Clinton years, the opposition came from the few right wing talk show hosts. Now, there is zero opposition! No wander the black people did not vote; they had no dog in this fight!

These PC minions of the media who bastardize the truth are nothing more than petty propagandists. And on Nov 5, it must be acknowledged, were recognized as such.

For example, just recall the adamant insistence that Clinton was going to pre-empt the 2000 election and reign as the first American monarch. You have NO IDEA how close we came to that result. The keys for the Transition Team were delivered only after Cheney had to threaten to SUE the 'outgoing' Administration... and then of course Clinton supplied BOTH sides with office space...

Ya know it's really too bad they didn't take on the Press!
What a job they could have done!
Commie Martyrs Highschool and that was back in the late 60's.

The "Perky" Katie Couric was in an obvious state of mourning November 6th.....it was WONDERFUL!

WOW -- powerful
and true:
A darkness fell over America and its name is Political Correctness. PC is a totalitarian dogma that defies the Constitution in its attempt to regulate the thoughts and speech of the American public. It is the mass destruction weapon of choice for a crowd of bourgeois elitists who could never figure out how to think so they devised a dogma of what to think.

That is quite delusional. something this bizarre and over-the-top surely deserves a "frontline" special or michael moore movie treatment ... do any of these posters have their own PBS show by any chance?
Moyers is a left-wing extremist. How left-wing extremists get to call ordinary conservatives names, but it doesnt work the other way around, that befuddles me. Moyers gets taxpayers to pay for his left-wing propaganda ... gack, puke!
