I don't think finding condescending behavior to be distasteful has much to do with gender. But I can see how you might think so.

Enjoy your dream!

Do you think she knows what 'twit' means??? :o)
To: anniegetyourgun
Patronizing?
Not hardly. Better go look that up.
Twits?
Where is your demonstration of your superior intellect or citation to irrefutable data?
Arrogant? Maybe, but it's my freedom you're selling out and explaining to all who would hear that we should support this unconstitutional behavior upon the part of the Federal Government in deference to a nascent global governance in return for an illusive benefit.

But I haven't been condescending! I was just telling you what I know and you went goo-goo on me.
That happens when a "twit" is rubbed in such a way. It's kool, perfectly normal. 8)

penetration up to depths of 25 feet. This was unexpected because they had assumed severe attenuation of the radiation within a few feet of the surface.<
Sorry I'm late...
Don't yet have data on attenuation length vs. wavelength, but there is a window at the blue/green wavelengths (probably 500 nm or so) The Navy has worked on some high powered lasers for airborn (&space) based communications for subs. My gut says the window shuts down at true UV (400 nm). I know from personal experience that green hene lasers work substantially better than 633nm.

...more
The attenuation length of distilled water at 475 nm is about 28 meters. That's the distance req'd to attenuate to 37% of the (initial) value.((1/e)) So-called Coastal water is about 5 meters and Chesapeake Bay Water was about 2.5 meters (in 1945).(Hulbert, E.O. and Duntley, S.Q.)
The effect may be real; I don't know how sensitive the buggers are to different wavelengths of light. A dusting of carbon-black may be just the ticket!

Hmmm.... That assumes a couple of things.
Link from expanding ozone hole to increased uv radiation flux
link from increased uv radiation flux to coral die-off.
Would be nice to see some actual experimental data on this.
Thx for getting back to me on this. HRP

Link from expanding ozone hole to increased uv radiation flux As far as I know, there has been no significant ozone depletion at the latitudes in question.

The Conservative agenda needs to have pro-active solutions - not just a bunch of whining about enviro-whackos.No, this is the best guiding document for the establishment of sound conservation policy. Get it and read it.
