Must have missed something in the translation...

Yeah. The Communist Manifesto.
It's the Rosetta Stone for unemployable dimwits like Wilma Mankiller (and I've got a C-note that says that's not her real name). |

A little known aspect to the Mandan holocast was that it was a deliberate effort to eradicate their nordic heritage.
Lewis & Clark remarked on these european features in the tribe, thus engendering panic in high government offices. The prospect of a prior claim to the Louisiana Terrritories from the Nords of europe was certain. Result? -- Annihilation of the 'ManDanes', was mandated.
I was told this in strict confidence, with a 50 yr non-disclosure agreement, by my great-grand-uncle 'Red' Ericsson, back in '52.
Now, it can be told.

I didn't see where they were going to discuss how the Native Americans kept encouraging Lewis and Clark to have sex with their women.

I heard they were organizing something to "commemorate" the anniversary. I'm a Lewis & Clark Expedition fan, maybe I'll see if I can make it, maybe ask questions... If you're brave enough to risk getting scalped!

Heck, as an alumnus, I've been ticked-off ever since the university set-out to quash the time honored legend of Nita-Nee.
Regional folklore connects the name Nittany or Nita-Nee to an Indian maiden. The mythological Nita-Nee was a princess who led her people into the fertile central Pennsylvania valley, safe from enemy tribes. When she died, the mountain miraculously arose overnight at the burial site, and the name thus was given to the geographical landmarks.
The bilge currently promoted by the university can be viewed here.
