What are the penalties for dnc list violations by call centers?

Penalties range from $500. to $25,000 per violation, per State. Call centers may be investigated for alleged individual, class action, State and Federal violations, or all four. The Federal Government has recently indicated they would like to establish a National do-not-call list also, with a penalty of $10,000. per call/violation.

Here's another helpful website for those in the US - it is a Do-Not-Call (DNC) site where you can sign up for your state (only 32 right now) to have your name and number added to the DNC list free of charge; if you're harrased by telemarketers after that, it is illegal and they can suffer HUGE fines and penalties!
