Happy Birthday Marines! The names of Edson, Puller, Shoup, Carlson and Walt come to mind.

The Marines had a guy in the 30s who knew the Japs were fortifying their mandated islands and he did some recon and paid w/his life.

His name was “Pete” Ellis. He knew what was coming on the horizon.

Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Biak, Bouganville, Pelileu, Saipan, Iwo Jima and Okinawa.

The Marines proved that sea-borne invasion can be accomplished!

God bless The Corps!

Sister Marines? Is this political correctness? Other than dressing up like Marines, do they go into combat? Are these the same women Marines who can't throw a hand grenade far enough to keep from killing themelves and their fellow soldiers. Sounds like a feminist fantasy to me.

God bless the men who for the last 200 years have put themselevs in harm's way to ensure that America remains the home of the brave and the land of the free.

Thanks for the well wishes. On many an occasion you guys saved our bacon. Nothing like a little carpet bombing to get the day started on the good foot. I still remember those arc light nights like they were yesterday. Semper Fi

I'm celebrating the Marine Corps Birthday by reading " MARINE " a biography of Chesty Puller. It's a "must read", by the way.

I also celebrate, because I met my wife of 45+ years at a Marine Corps Birthday ball.

No I'm not. Somebody has to stay in the rear with the gear LOL. But both of my brothers were in the Navy. Honorable discharges to boot.

I thank God every day for the brave men who were and are, they are the defenders of our freedom. Are you trying to put women marines on a par with the sacrifices that men marines have made for the past 200 years? Do women go into combat?

Sounds like you've got a gaping pie hole. I tell you what hotshot, go stand in front of a target at PI with a platoon of women recruits firing from the 500 meter line and see how long you run your ignorant, nonhacking mouth before you're filled with .223 holes. Now run along muckraker.

I never saw Maggie's Drawers much myself ... I hear ya, a woman can pop a pumpkin at 500 yards as easily as a man. Let's do it with 7.62 .. I never shot much long distance with the 5.56mm/

Semper Fi and Happy Birthday to FMF
