Actually there is, although Webster's New World dictionary does state that there is some dispute as to whether it should be two words or a single word with one "L". I am going to stick on my side of the dispute.

From Merriam-Webster:

***usage The one-word spelling alright appeared some 75
years after all right itself had reappeared from a
400-year-long absence. Since the early 20th century some
critics have insisted alright is wrong, but it has its
defenders and its users. It is less frequent than all right but
remains in common use especially in journalistic and
business publications.***

Just couldn't resist getting into your argument. I'll go quietly now.

without large domestic animals to provide traction, the wheel doesn't have a lot of value...sure it does, been to an airport lately and seen the luggage on wheels?

Many Mexican and Central American groups had writing before the white man showed up...but not who we call native Americans.

The Spaniards marveled at the city and then later destroyed it.

True. But not because they wanted to. The Aztecs fought so tenaciously that the Spanish and their allies were forced to destroy the city in order to conquer it.

"There's no such word as 'alright.'"

Alright is all right, but Allbright is all wrong.
