Do I detect a Chinese accent there?

I saw that question and it was (paraphrase) Will you be led around by the far right of your party? There were religious implications in the question as well but I cannot remember the correct phrasing. His answer was right on,indicating that he will listen to everyone and then make his ouw decision.

Too little. Too late. Too bad. Lott can go back to his cheerleading job.

Lott's going to win the Majority Leader position. Don Nickles was going to challenge him, but is now taking another leadership position. I've called and talked to Orrin Hatch's office, and apparently (!) Lott is the only Republican senator who can corral all of the Republicans and make them work together. Disgusting.

Daschle made repeated statements, prior to the election that he would not allow the senate leadership to change hands before the next session. He said that it just would never happen.

As for the president saying that he would not be beholden to conservatives in the party, this was most likely taken out of context, and repeated to stir up controversy with the party. The only chance that the liberals have is to divide the Bush base and some of you are falling for it, hook, line and sinker.

"I've never seen one that served the American people well..."

Is he talking about Republican senate leaders named Lott? Me, neither...

You can't go by what he says or how he looks. He's been trained to lie by the best. Surprised he doesn't slip up every once in a while and bite his lip.

I believe the context of Bush's remark was the Press Conference yesterday in response to a liberal reporter's question whether he would now (in effect) take his marching orders from the religious right. The question sounded to me like bait, which he declined to take.

I was sure that was what happened. Maybe that was the question for which Bush facetiously thanked the reporter for asking such a loaded question.

I don't know if it was "that" question because I wasn't watching it live - I was reading Freeper reactions real time. I believe Howlin did however, so I'm pinging her.

I had to step out for some of the press conference, so I'll ask some people who were there.

I'm pretty sure you all are right though.

BTW, that "religious right" was a buzzword I heard almost ALL of the liberal talking heads using before 8 PM EST on Election Night. I pointed it out to people at our Freeper party. I knew we'd hear that again.
