Could you please explain why the race and hair color of one's spouse goes the competency or incompetency of Chief Moose--or anyone else, for that matter? I thought the same thing...and further still...can you see a racist with eyes closed ?...No...
Can you see a racist with your eyes open?...No...Its the latter they just don't get

"
Leave Moose alone"Thank you.
Btw....I don't know if any of you saw an interview with Moose in his office after the snipers were caught.
Whatever his political persuasion may be....it's not Left wing. He espoused basic principles of right vs. wrong, and went off on America being THE GREATEST COUNTRY on earth.
Add to that, he is surrounded with various leadership posters on the walls....the most visible and predominate one features a large portrait of Colin Powell.
I know many feel he was given the post because of his skin colour...probably true. He certainly may have been promoted because of this....but staying in the present, I was very impressed with the way he HANDLED the press and the pressure.

Moose does not have just an "accent" or a "dialect", he mangles many letters in VERY EASILY CORRECTABLE BUT SEVERE SPEECH IMPEDIMENTS.
Show me a single caucasian cop who has been promoted past LT sounding like a reject from the three stooges, and I will take back every word.
Chief of Police is a communications intensive job, and Moose communicates like a 12 year old with a mouth full of marbles, it's not a question of "dialect".
If he is not a prime example of PC sensitive affirmative action mated to the Peter Principle, I don't know who is.

I have never before had comments which were so inoffensive deleted.
You should take off your Admin Moderator hat on threads where you get personally involved, or quit being an AM.
To: Travis McGee
I don't know what you're talking about.
And I am not moderator. Never have been. Never will be.

And just so we're clear, I didn't have anything to do with your remarks being deleted; I don't hit abuse for stuff like that. I hit it for duplications.

"Chief Moose Cost Lives" Yes he did, and if that license plate number had not been leaked there is not much telling how many more would have died. I still believe there was deliberate method to this madness. I think the game plan was to delay arrest until after the election so that Bush could be lambasted.

If Saddam has his own Sampson Option in place in the USA, he may decide to release it once he realizes that he is cornered and doomed.
I believe that Atta received an anthrax sample in Prague from the European head of Iraqi intelligence, and that they were responsible for last year's anthrax letters as a subtle and "deniable" warning shot across our bow.
Instead of three grams, the next attack could involve 300 kilograms put into hundreds of USPS, FedEx and UPS packages on the same day, as well as thrown in glass jars onto the subway tracks of our ten largest cities, effectively destroying our economy for months at least and killing tens of thousands at a minimum.
That is what I mean when I say "Iraq could blow up in our face," NOT that Saddam will defeat the US military.
To: Howlin
I'll take your word for it.
To: maica
Maica, it's not a dialect at that level of letter malformation. It's a speech imediment, or several severe ones, and they are correctable. I had a more severe speech impediment than Moose as a child, and I overcame it (s/th) with therapy.
Without his affirmative action card, Moose would have never made it past patrolman sounding like a moron who never bothered to try to correct his impediments.
That's reality.
To: Travis McGee
Thank you. Nothing you posted to me seemed offensive.

I think once a thread is branded as "racist" (correctly or not, I don't think that hiring incompetent affirmative action PC darlings should be off the discussion table on FR) the AMs go nuts and totally overboard with deletions.
To: rambo316
Moose is getting all kinds of accolades for solving the "sniper" case, yet it was the information on the car and license plate reported by Rita Cosby of Fox News, and then other reporters, that solved the case. Within three hours - case closed.
PC has now taken over law enforcement.

I don't think that sort of attack would hurt Bush and help Hillary.

If this was the case for making a judgment on someone's competency, then Clarence Thomas wouldn't be on the Supreme Court.

I just looked back and I see the posts I objected to are now gone; when one or two come along and do that to a thread, it's hard to get it BACK on track.
That being said, I don't see that affirmative action is not a valid topic either; but it can be done without mocking whole groups of people with broad strokes and stereotyping.
Whether or not he spoke the Queen's English has nothing to do with him getting the job because of AA.

The PC true believers think racism is the worst of sins. I don't see why we on FR should agree. At its worst, racism can be genocidal and truly evil. But, at its mildest, it can be a mere peccadillo, if it's wrong at all, like genteel anti-Semitism. It's the equivalent of snobbery, only it's based on race or ethnicity, not class, and I don't see how it's any worse. It may have been understandable how people went overboard reacting to Hitler's crimes at the time, but they're now 60 years in the past.
The true mass murder in our time is abortion on demand. In comparison, racism -- at least white racism -- is a pimple.
To: Catspaw
I dont get it? What did you mean

I was trying to say that one cannot identify a racist by the color of his skin...
Racist is racist...just because a guy is black doesnt mean he is incapable of racism, and beyond suspicion especially given the circumstances and facts...
To: aristeides
Maybe, maybe not, my point is we are entering uncharted waters and the ship could hit an unseen mine, leading to all new and unpredictable paradigms.
