we’re a solidly Republican state and, even weirder, we’ve got Republican governors in our sissy-boy border states of Vermont and Massachusetts.

The quote-machine is running overtime once again. Steyn rules!

Terry McAuliffe, who I fervently hope is not forced from office until at least the end of the decade.

I second that.

in the immortal words of the hastily exhumed Walter Mondale in his only campaign debate, ‘Don’t worry about me and terrorism. I’m against it.’

Did he really say that? LOL!

That was the warning sign the demorats have ignored. From Florida to the Carolinas and west to Mississippi, other than some isolated ares (like Tennessee where the idiot GOP Governor endorsed a state income tax) the GOP has basically expelled the Demorats from the Southeast. Texas will probably be next. This is a disaster for the dems since the largest population shift is into the South and I know this will shock them, but people really do like low taxes and warm weather without union supervision. So I look forward to the next four years. It will be entertaining to watch them go nuclear on themselves.

My favorite moment: "We're gonna organize. We're gonna organize. We're gonna organize. We're gonna organize. We're gonna organize. We're gonna organize. We're gonna organize. We're gonna organize. We're gonna organize. We're gonna organize. We're gonna organize. We're gonna organize. We're gonna organize. We're gonna organize. We're gonna organize. We're gonna organize. We're gonna organize. We're gonna organize. We're gonna organize. We're gonna organize. We're gonna organize."

It sounded like a soundbite from a 1937 Stalinist auto workers' rally in Detroit.

The Democrat straw-clutching settled quickly on the governorships,

I picked up USA Today at Philly Airport--and read that in McPaper's drivel. It was ridiculous. The Dims get the livin crappola beat out of them---and the articles talk about the "Governorships that set the trend of national politics and change the course of nations." Huh?

Steyn got the early VNS reports 100% wrong!! The reports were accurate from the first moment and showed the good guys winning in a landslide over the anti-American commies. The media could not afford to speak of this for fear of stampeding the very shallow, love-to-back-a-winner Californians into a major dump Blackout Davis drive. It was either lie and abort or report facts and scuttle west coast commies and, naturally, the ultra-left wing media protected Davis.

It wasn't reporting wrong information about the good guys losing, they feared reporting the truth about the leftists and what that would do to the elections in the west.

Pokey,

Please add me to your MSPL!

I'd be in favor of Mark Steyn for President, but it would be much more fun to make him Press Secretary. (Ari got that covered, though).

I think that's his hint that he would be willing to run for Prez.

"So it’s Bush’s triumph, and Republicans can spend the next few days with their feet up watching embittered Dems tear themselves apart."

But, but Terry McAuliffe says the election outcome doesn't mean much and that nothing has changed.

<< "I’d be in favour of amending the US Constitution to permit Canadians to serve as president, though Miss Granholm isn’t necessarily the candidate I have in mind (ahem)"

Since when did the DemocRATS care about the Constitution anyway? >>

Mr Mark ["Ahem"] Steyn is a REPUBLICAN Canadian!

As a strident conservative myself, if I had to pick just one Republican to lose on Tuesday, I’d have plumped for Connie.

I'm not sure about the use of the word "plumped" here but I second the sentiment on Morella. She's beyond RINO.

YES!!!! That would be perfect!! I hope he's at the very least been invited to the White House by now.

Mark Steyn should be a household name. You know if he was liberal, he would be by now.

Thanks for the photo of Mark Steyn, Pokey. He's different (e.g., younger) from how I'd visualized him.
