I think the point was they should be raiding the homes of "real" terrorists if they want to do that sort of thing.Yes, I agree. But there is also a need to "follow-the-trail" to leadership, not just round-up the self-sacrificial peons.
Not that I think that Koernke is associated with AQ terrorism,
but he's gone out of his way to "push-the-envelope" and agitate on the extreme right.
As I said, I may empathize, but it is also with EXTREME wariness of the types of kooks that are also attracted to that message. Many are truly emotionally unbalanced with racial/ethnic/religious ignorance and bigotry.

I haven't heard anything about Rev. Norm Olsen in a LONG time. Do you have any updates on him?
To: TexanAmerican
I honestly thought when the GOP took over, these things would stop happening.
LOL, That's funny

That's the one:
He was arrested March 7, 2000, following a lengthy car chase that began after police mistakenly thought he was involved in a bank robbery in Dexter. Koernke didn't know about the robbery until after the chase. He didn't know why they were chasing him, but fled anyway because he "feared for his life and his son's safety".

The name is vaguely familiar.
But I'm afraid he's off my radar screen these days.
Does he favor construction of Maglev or nuclear desalination plants?

Wouldn't it have been much cheaper and easier to broadcast using an audio stream over the Internet, rather than through shortwave radio?Yes, but it's worse: He was using VHF-FM! His broadcasts had a range of two, maybe four miles...

Mark K. just underlines the truth of the old saw about there being no victims, only volunteers...

Have you read Joel Dyer's Harvest of Rage, perchance? No. But back when I lived in Michigan, and before I had Internet access, I occasionally listened to Koernke on the radio if whatever was on TV was totally unwatchable. He's an interesting kook, but I couldn't take a steady diet of it. Not familiar enough to know how far over the edge he may be, but he definitely is out there on the fringe.
To: Willie Green
Dyer's book is worth a read.
If he's sane, he's deliberately aiming himself at the nutballs. Lunatics of the world, unite! You have only your Prozac to lose!

Now, many things about this situation deeply disturb me. I think they are simply harrassing the family of a man who they sent to prison. Thanks so much for posting the information. I have a question and please forgive me if it is a stupid question. My understanding is that Koernke is in prison during the broadcast and the raid, right? So how can he be responsible? Who was broadcasting?
Just to let some of those who have posted concerns about racist militia: I met his wife about 6 years ago at a homeschooling conference run by a Christian Homeschooling group in Michigan. This is an inclusive group who have many blacks and non-Protestant members. I doubt seriously that his family would be involved with a group as inclusive as this one was and is if he was part of a racist militia. I've never heard that particular accusation made against him. However, he was being hounded by the feds back then, in 1996. I think his views were considered dangerous, i.e. too politically incorrect.
Again, thanks for the information.

My brother said that Connie Chung last week was interviewing someone and brought up a connection between the Michigan Militia and Al Queada (sp?). Does anyone have more info on that?

OK, so now how about raiding the homes of the other militia leaders (Al Qaeda cells and sympathizers) who also live in Michigan (can you say "Dearborn"?)The government (or better yet, the globalists who control it) have much to gain by ignoring real terrorists. Not only do they get to pass more draconian, Constitution shredding legislation, but a terrified population is much easier to control and eventually, by default or design, effectively enslave.

The person she interviewed was a contributing editor to Vanity Fair magazine by the name of Sebastian Junger. It was a load of crap. According to Nancy Koernke's latest internet-only radio show, a lawsuit is in order.

Thanks for the info. I'm sure this is what my brother was referring to.
