I've said it before and will say it again. Jesse though he claims to be a libertarian, and talks like one, but acts like a left of center type of lib, does hate the democratic party, always has, always will. He (claims) to believe in smaller government and the 2nd amendment. The fact that the dems boooed him at the wellstone political rally, has got to be burning him up.

[At least garbage collecting is an honorable profession. Which is more than I can say for the job the poor sod would be filling.]
I was thinking the same thing - my grandfather always said, "Any honest work is honorable work - the dirt I get on me from honest work, will always wash off."
But I do see VEntura's statement - they would certainly know garbage when they saw it. Actually, the people up there know garbage when they see it - they just hope we don't or hope we don't have the courage to say it is garbage.

Frostbite Falls, Minnesota resident accepts the position as US Senator. Average IQ of Senate increases dramatically.

I nominate Rose Nylund for Minnesota Senator...
To: Tumbleweed_Connection
I think Ventura should appoint...
Her
PRO
1. No Democrat can match her intellectual energy
2. She will humiliate the DirtyCrat Senators in spades...if Ventura wants to smile and get "payback"----Coulter is definitely a way to accomplish it
3. She looks Scandavian--very important to the Minne-SOOO-Ta voters
4. She will tower over Daschle
5. It will drive the media nuts
CON
1. Hillary! will try to flirt with her. Ann also may be sexually harassed by other Democrat Senators who should be nicknamed "Uni-Brow."
2. Senator Hollings won't leave her alone. I can just hear the old goat now in the Senate Cloakroom: "Naw, youse sure is a perty lil' ting here! Dere is too much leg a showin for me to dink 'bout votin today sunflower!"

Mark Dayton was already out today and made a statement as to "Jesse, you'd better be careful who you choose" so it looks like they already are trying to tell him what to do.

Go, Jesse, Go! I know a lot of people have trouble with this guy, but I actually kind of like him. He won't take any c.r.a.p. off of anybody, and it's apparent he's really had his eyes opened to the Dem behavior at the "memorial service".

Who is Mark Dayton, and why would Jesse pay any attention to him in the first place? (Please elaborate for us non-MN-residents.)

LOL!!!!!!! Very MN to have a moose or elk appointed :-).

I'd like to see Ventura appoint either John (The Golden Greek) Tolas or Freddie Blassie.

Everything I heard is that his appointment would be meaningless becuase it will not last a long time.
But I just read an editorial that says the appointment could be very important because the result of the election will be disputed (my summary - put much better in the editorial).
Here is the Link.
Has anyone else seen this discussed? I have not seen anything about this on Free Republic or the regular news.

I'll volunteer! I'm a citizen of Minnesota, I'm a common man. I'm a professional. I pay my taxes, boy do I pay my taxes. I'm not an independant, but I am a common man that would give my left leg to say what I want to say on the Congressional Record. Just give me, the common man, a chance to make a statement for the constitution and the American People and I'll do it in a heart beat!

If the apparent loser of the special election challenges the election in court, he may be able to obtain an order restraining the election officials from issuing a final certfication until a trial can be completed -- thereby extending the term of Ventura's appointee. I predict that Jesse will appoint native Minnesotan Bob Dylan, who will then broker a deal with the Republican Congress and President Bush to abolish the corporate gains tax in exchange for their agreement to decriminalize marijuana. Dylan will benefit from both parts of the deal and so will the American people.

repeal the 17th!

If it weren't for the nominee having to be a Minnesota resident, I'd volunteer ... and believe me, neither party would like what I would bargain for! Governor Ventura probably has a really good choice in mind, someone who will 'even' the insult from the Mondale/Wellstone rally. I'm on the edge of my chair awaiting the choice. Sic um, Jesse!
