The article wasn't written at my request, "MileHi."And I didn't name Denver the Mile High City. Thanks again for proving my point. You duck the issue and resort to cheap shots, proving once again what human debris you are.

what human debris you are. "According to the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, of all the people entering treatment for marijuana in 1999, more than half (57 percent) first used the drug by the age of 14."

"According to the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, of all the people entering treatment for marijuana in 1999, more than half (57 percent) first used the drug by the age of 14." This is relevant to what? How many of these people tried alcohol or cigs before they tried pot? Would you support a prohibition on alcohol?
To: Roscoe
Where's your source?

Begging the question. Sourcelessly, citelessly. The whole article you posted is sourceless and citeless. It makes numerouse assertions but supports none of them. It seems that since you agree with those assertions you take it as gospel. But any poster who disagrees gets your mindless cite? reply.
Therefore my assertion that you are a hypocrite. We can let the readers of this thread decide if my assertion is accurate.

Marijuana sends more teens into treatment than any other illicit drug.
What I'm trying to figure out it how is marijuana "addiction" treated? Morphine? Sedation? I mean, is there a real medical basis for marijuana rehab? I'll bet it's just a bunch of counselors talking, group therapy and finally, the obligatory support groups to help them "maintain sobrioty".
To: Roscoe
It must be denial day on FR. Seems like it. I asked you like 5 times already. Which chemical in pot makes it addictive? Afraid of the truth?
To: jenny65
I agree 100% that kids shouldn't be smoking it. Nor should they be drinking alcohol or smoking tobacco. Once they become adults they should be able to make their own decisions.
Won't get me to argue on that point. Kids should stay away from both drugs and alcohol...DUH - Adults...well let them be free to do what they want.

When I was in grade school, I was an honor roll student. Really bright kid. I was introduced to marijuana in junior high and by the time I was a sophomore in high school, I occasionally smoked marijuana with my friends. At the time, I was getting straight A's, as were most of my friends, and most of went on to Ivy-league caliber schools, and stopped smoking marijuana when alcohol became readily available to us as a social lubricant. We generally enjoy prosperous lives today, without substance abuse problems.
Of course, had it been a later decade, getting caught in high school could have ruined our lives in the name of the war on drugs, which does little more than to enrich thugs on both sides of the law enforcement line.
