Yes, I would appreciate any information of this organization, especially from insiders in the field.

It seems that the specialist made a typo on her own letter. Perhaps the person typing the letter confused her title with an "infusion specialist" which in the medical field is concerning IV therapy.
You are so right about me fighting for the computer when he is visiting. He heads straight for the rack and grabs Reader Rabbit. He can drag and drop faster than I.

The daycare personell have no concerns of his behavior or developement. This organization is "Wordshop on Wheels" which I take to mean they drop in to screen children.
Yes, most certainly, the pediatrician will be contacted.
Thanks for your post.

CB,
Done some checking. Not a bad organization (as these kinds of programs go). It is an organization that helps parents learn how to be effective parents, while finding adequate daycare, and helping daycare providers spot problems. It is also affiliated with the Area United Way.
In my opinion (and I know everyone has one) take him to a private doctor. If you have a primary pediatrician who has seen this child from birth, then use him.
Be nice to these people. Calmly have your daughter explain that she is very worried and is going to follow up with proper medical examination. And if something is found to not be in order then she will follow up with classes from the local college or her child will do what the doctor recommends. And sometimes it doesn't hurt to get a second, third, or fourth opinion. Your peditrician might also be able to provide you with all the information you need about this organization.
MAKE SURE SHE ASKS: If I don't sign this paper then what will happen then? Will they report her to the DFS?
And maybe check into another daycare or a private sitter.
From what I can gather about this program it is designed to help people learn parenting skills. Does the grandson mind the ppl at the daycare? Does he throw a fit when he has to go? Does he seem happy when he is picked up? (remember there are normal seperation issues for a child of this age) The reason I ask this is because sometimes when a child is rebellious to a care provider it is because personalities mesh and the child acts out in disobedience. Trust me on this one, I have had one bruise on the entire forearm due to bite marks while trying to subdue an out of control child. But other kids I can just point to them and they stop what they are doing. Of course I work with level three kids, so I see children who have some serious issues.
I agree with what one poster said that there might be a problem and as much as you love the little one you have a blind spot. You wouldn't be a good nanna if you didn't see him as perfect! :)
I hope this helps and makes sense. It is almost midnight here and my eyes, brain, and hands hurt.
If you have any more questions email me privately and I will see if I can find anything else out. Please keep us updated as well. This isn't really my area of training. I work with 8-18 year olds who come from DFS. I also heard this stuff on the fly about what the organization does and I tried to remember most of it.
