THEY might say to avoid panic.
I say they don't to maintain control, CONTROL, CONTROL!!!
And to avoid embarrassment over flaws in their approach etc. Minimize diplomatic hassles . . . etc.

A quick study of the maps in 39....I would guess Arizonia is next in experiencing the West Nile Virus, if they haven't already.

See the maps in post 39.

Alert Arizona freepers... tell them to look for a bunch of new crows circulating around. If we a sudden increase in the number of dead crows, test the dead crows and find West Nile, then you could begin to suspect bioterrorism. Until you find the dead birds... there's not much to it.

Very possibly. But the map doesn't tell the story... the timeline must be added.
This year's WNV infestation began... guess where... right adjacent to the U.N.
Certainly, some posters are correct: there's nothing new about WNV. But it's new here, and it was brand-new when the first infestation was detected in the U.N.'s neighborhood.
And, gee, guess what country more than any other has a grievance against the U.N.? Hm. Let's see, what country with known bioterrorism R&D has been subjected to U.N. sanctions for a decade now... I'm thinking... I'm thinking...

If the government admits it's terrorism, then the MAD policy requires it to respond to the responsible party. For the time being, the government is apparently unwilling either to do this or to disavow the MAD policy.

It's kinda like the Anthrax incident-Someone tries to kill large groups of people but they arent very adept at manipulating the virus. So far so good, for us! Or the limited effect might be intended. A warning, to deter us from attacking Iraq or whoever.

Isn't the purpose of terrorism to affect a change in political policy through fear in response to the threat of harm (or death) to persons or property? If so, any terrorists who may have done this have failed to adequately tie their actions to the desired policy they wish to change. We don't know what secret communications have been sent to our government.
I read on another thread that the National Enquirer is reporting that the sniper has left notes at some of his other shootings, besides the one of the boy.

Makes sad sense to me.

It seems exceedingly logical given all we know about Iraq etc. that West Nile is terrorism. OK. Be serious now.

Just like there is no way that the infamous snipers are mideastern of Bin Laden.

Who said that the snipers couldn't be Middle Eastern?

Not sure what you mean.
U joking?
Have read published reports of Hussein having the capacity and plan to use specifically that virus on us.
Certainly he has the arrogance and morals to do it. Certainly he has the hatred to do it. Certainly he has the means to do it. Evidently he has the desire to do that and worse. His sympathesizers ditto.
Then voila, it's here.
Of course, I suppose one could postulate as with AIDS that it was a CIA plot began with monkeys etc. etc. and etc.
We are all guessing in a sea of misinformation, half truths and truth. God only knows.
My opinion is, he was probably behind it.

A very ineffective way for terrorism, but it could be a test run for something worse.

Are there any other instances of a tropical disease being imported into the U.S. and spreading like this, or being this lethal?
