Like the Daewoo, that Galil takes AR-15 mags, I think --- So is it fish'r'fowl ?
To: Redcloak
However, didn't the police state that the ballistic evidence linked the case to the other shootings. Yes, they did. And from that I conclude that the previous rounds were not .223.

Is it possible the cops don't want to release a composite because it would spook or tip the snipers?
To: jdogbearhunter
Agreed.
you don't have to be "olive skinned" to be a muslim terrorist.
To: Dog Gone
It's not these guys!
Hey, Cisco.
Hey, Poncho

Those are some HUGE dots to connect. I don't trust Moose. I never thought he might be connected to those Portland revolutionaries, but now I am suspicious. What the heck is really going on?
That's astounding about the gun reg. computers being shut down for six months. Looks like these sniper attacks have been a long time in the planning.

I didn't know about the German thing. I'm wondering if perhaps the reason why this is going on in this particular area is to make an impact on our seat of government? Perhaps there was a warning on the card (ie) we can get you anytime we want to. Perhaps this is a warning to stop the pursual of Iraq. I'm wondering if more of these will happen the closer we get to destroying Saddam?

The Soviet bullet had a reputation in Afghanistan for fragmenting violently on impact, and making really nasty wounds. The NATO bullet seems more designed for deep penetration. And what kinds of wounds have the D.C. sniper's shots caused?
To: Palladin
I don't trust Moose. Hmmmmmm......has the FBI checked HIM out?
To: pettifogger
Isn't there evidence the shooter departed on foot, which would mean the agitated guy in the van was not the shooter?
To: aristeides
Perhaps they should have been saying that the recovered bullets were ".223-ish". Some here have expressed surprise at the idea that they could have recovered enough bullet material to make "matches" from one shooting to the next.
To: Dog Gone
1. The authorities have used witness descriptions and/or ballistics to identify the shooter's weapon as an AK-74.
2. Of all the hundreds of possible weapons in the world, it just happens that an AK-74 variant is that rifle with which Bin Laden was fond of posing.
3. Is this going to be reported by the media as news, or is it just something only us Freepers are going to know?
To: Demidog
No such thing as an AK74. Excuse me????????
To: Plutarch
I was just kidding, being overly pedantic.

Bin Ladin is a Democrat. Not very often do you see him off his a$$.
To: dd5339
they were only 90% sure it was a .223. For a while they were saying they were from the same rifle. Now they aren't sure it was from a .223. They found .223 brass next to the Tarot card, but do they know the shooter dropped either of those objects?
To: Nix 2
I guess you've just put a name on my suspicions that there is a mole in the sniper investigation.
To: aristeides
Isn't there evidence the shooter departed on foot . . . Hadn't heard that. Could be, I suppose.
To: pettifogger
A dog apparently tracked the shooter's scent to the Beltway, 4-5 miles away. Read that here yesterday.
To: Palladin
If Linda Franklin was working as an analyst for Gary Bald's FBI sniper investigation, Moose would presumably have known.
