Why, oh why is it that latinos and mexicans continually identify with the worst elements of socialism, and only withdraw their support when it is clear that someone is not 100% for continuing the gravy train. Perhaps this is a purely Mexican thing...though having been born and raised in Costa Rica, I am no stranger to the bizarre variations of Marxism that infest politics down there.
But there is little question that the latino vote is doing more to make California a worse place to live than almost any other constituency. "¡Hay de mi!" Indeed...

'Democrats used to say that Latinos were given birth as Democrats

As dumb as that may sound to you, it's true. Not only do they think they are born Democrats, they also think they are born Catholic. What they don't realize is the fact that both can be changed.

Sort of like Original Sin.

Well, Blacks are probably the most destructive voting bloc, because they have a social system where you are ostracised for voting outside of the party line.

I have to say that not all Blacks are that way - the efforts of Ward Connerly are most impressive. Unfortunately, he's part of a tiny (if growing) minority.

(Note that I am not prejudiced against individual blacks or hispanics - but their politics appall me).

Republican Candidate Bill Simon has worked tirelessly to win over Latino voters, even thought they are generally wary of the G.O.P.

Can he capitalize on Davis' failures with the Hispanic community?
Polls also show as many as 17 percent of voters are undecided about this year's election, and 11 percent have opted for candidates outside the major parties.

Muy bueno, PING!

" 'Democrats used to say that Latinos were given birth as Democrats,' says Miguel Araujo, the head of San Francisco-based Centro Azteca, which lobbied for Davis in 1998 and now has withdrawn its support. 'But that's not true anymore. Davis has shown that he is in fact one of our worst enemies.' "
From our FRiends at www.polizeros.com [8/29/02]:
MEMORIAL MEETING [9/6/02]
Peter [Camejo] is inviting all Bay Area campaign supporters to an important memorial meeting on September 6th in Berkeley.
The meeting is to honor Antonio Araujo, who was assassinated in Michoacan, Mexico on August 18th.

Antonio was a founder and leader of Centro Azteca, a group fighting for the rights of Mexcian workers here in California.
Antonio's brother Miguel, has worked closely with the Camejo campaign this year.
Antonio was working in Mexico to stop corruption and defend worker's rights. His assassination was an attempt to stop this work and intimidate those who attempt it. ”Our message will be that all people of good will stand behind those working to end corruption, both here and in Mexico,” says Camejo. “This murder will not stop us from our struggle. All individuals and groups organizing this meeting will make it clear that we support Centro Azteca and their important work...”

I never knew anyone in Costa Rica who favored abortion. Méjico is traditionally religious, what are the Leftists attempting to do to our faith? Why aren't the latinos being considered for screener jobs? The Leftists mandated that minorities were to be heavily represented. Nunca se parece terminar.

From the San Francisco Chronicle:
"...Lately this election has come down to lack of choice. Most voters are discouraged at the prospect of choosing between Gov. Ka-ching and Simple Simon.

Some may consider going the Nader route and voting for Green Party candidate Peter Camejo, a Trotskyist-turned-stockbroker.

So you say you'll lodge a protest vote, because voters won't elect someone as dumb as Simon? In 2000, a lot of people said that about the man currently sitting in the White House..."

Gray Davis = Al Gore
Peter Camejo = Ralph Nader

Bill Simon = George W. Bush

I think that as many people will be as pleasantly surprised at how good a Governor BILL SIMON will be, as there were people who have discovered how good a President GEORGE BUSH has proven to be.
As Ann Coulter says, if the Democrats were to lose the ability to call Republicans "dumb," they would lose over HALF of their ammunition.
They were WRONG about Reagan, and they were WRONG about Dubya - just as they will be proven WRONG about Bill Simon.

Not sure what you mean.
But if it happened in the ONE-part state of Kalifornia, the RATs did it.
Republicans only have "observer" status in our state government - for now. :o)

North American Free Trade Agreement was to allow trucks from Méjico to to carry loads on our highways if they passed safety inspections. The Leftists objected in favor of union support.

Abortions are still taboo in Costa Rica; the preferred method of dealing with unwanted pregnancies is the "Oh SH**! Shotgun Wedding", which while often leading to some really screwed up marriages remains better than murder.
Abortion, however, is not a requisite part of Latin American marxism. It is a unique brand of paternalistic government, where the rights of the individual are always secondary.

I will simply say this: I work and socialize with people of all races and give all of the respect they deserve as individuals. I do not believe a group represents individual people, so I judge everyone as individuals.

But that doesn't prevent me from saying members of groups do dumb things when, well, they do.

Check out the www.firedavis.com website. They have put up a MASSIVE

FIRE DAVIS

sign on the south side of the 10 fwy in downtown Los Angeles. It must be 6 or 8 stories high. Previously, it had a large rendition of the Pledge of Alegiance with the "under God" highlighted. I love it!

As most elections show, when an incumbent gets kicked out, it rarely has to do with the perceived merits of the challenger. It almost always turns on the attitude of the voters toward the incumbent.

How wonderful. LA is Grayout's stronghold and a daily reminder like that for so many voters is worth 100 column inches in the LA Slimes....
