For what it's worth, it was not a federal constitutional issue and they were right in ignoring it. It is up to the NJ Legislature to voice their objections. If they choose not to then so be it, the people deserve what they get.
That being said, the NJSC just rewrote state law. Guess there's no further need for a state legislature........
Congress, please go home since your judges choose to ignore your laws and make their own.

I'm very new to all this....I'm REALLY impressed!
Now, how do I get all the freepers in the U.S. to come to NJ on election day to help out?
You can all vote by absentee ballot in your home state.....
I have beer and wine.....please?????????

We've been living this all day here in NJ. Actually, this may not be a bad thing as far as the election goes ( certainly the precedent is horrible - but that may be able to be fought on other grounds ).
Re: the election : it's vital that we now try to focus on Lautenberg's horrible record. It's way more liberal than Torricelli's. The whole court thing was a distraction away from the issues and also diverted attention from the fact that the man is 78 years old! It also may have created the real danger of galvanizing the Dems even more than they've been "partially" galvanized by removing the albatross that was Torricelli from the ballot. I think the more the attention is focused on Lautenberg - and nothing else - the worse he'll look. If not.....welll, we get what we vote for. If any Republican stays home on election day - I'll personally track them down and knock on their door....and we'll have a little "conversation".....( I'm Italian )......

At least your state has "seen the light" ....even a lot of the Dems are endorsing Pataki .....we have McGreevy - Corzine - Torricelli - Lautenberg - Secaucus - superfund sites - ....I think, though we can still smoke and drink in bars ( as long as we're accompanied by a Democrat - and as long as we pay ).
