Re-Elect Governor Bush Bump!

This amendment is a classic example of why citizens' ballot initiatives are often without merit and why they should not be so easy to bring about.Thats ridiculous, citizens ballot intiatives are the reason we have such low taxes in Florida.
If citizens knew the truth about how much this would cost, they of course would make a more informed choice. Bush has proposed that the cost of ballot intiatives be attached to such ammendments.
The stupid socialist Democrats, are of course opposed, they can only thrive by keeping voters in the dark.
After this one passes, how about a voter ammendment eviscerating the power of teachers unions to prevent the firing of incompetent administrators and teachers.
After that, an ammendment to make the teaching of civics, morality and American culture and values mandatory.
The rats think they are clever, but they will regret the can of worms they have opened up.

Ahhh. You have ideas of beating them at their own game. Boy would there be kicking and screaming at the subjects you suggest. I would add analytical skills classes to your list to prepare students to think for themselves. Sounds like great fun!

There is absolutely no proof that class size is worth the price tag. And, to think that such an amendment would cut teacher's jobs and separate kids from the same families and move them from neighborhood schools.
Lead story on the front page today - no Bush Bashing. I think that McBride is losing and the Times is preparing their readers for Jeb's re-election.
The class size amendment is bad business and a wrong move. McB's minions tried to distance their campaign from the amendment but kind of hard since he was for the amendment since it was first proposed by his fellow dems.

I thought this was the story from the stptimes.com in Sunday's paper, lead story. Even the St. Pete Times agrees that this amendment is too risky. Now if we can start characterizing the Amendment re: class size as TOO RISKY to our friends and neighbors it won't pass.
I haven't been here all day - I don't know if the St. Pete Times story was posted here at FR. It is worth a look-see.
St. Pete Times caption: "Florida can learn plenty from California. Test scores improved slightly, but teacher shortages worsened and costs are steep." FRONT PAGE - LEAD STORY - ST. PETE TIMES. They have someone with a brain at the paper and his name is Stephen Hegarty (someone new).

The USA today ran a pro-'class-size' article a few days ago. There is no way that any honest pol or pundit can support this amendment. Pfaw's putting out class-size lies, and the NAACP and national and state teacher's unions are organized and active in getting out the lies.
We know now that this bill isn't helping children where it's being enforced, and it is hurting minority students in CA. (while Jeb's One Florida is helping Fla.'s minority students). What does that say about the real interest of the far left activist groups, our newsmedia and Bill McBride?
Push for smaller class size: still no proof, California, Nevada, Maryland....1999.
While the academic benefits of class-size reduction are still in dispute, there is one result that cannot be denied: the California Teachers Association has exactly 37,584 more members than it had three years ago.
