re dialups v load times:
these threads could be 20,000 posts long and it wouldn't matter.
one of the options in your FR preferences is the number of posts per page - 20, 50, 100, or 250.
when you refresh your page, only the number of posts per page you've chosen are being reloaded.
folks on dialup should opt for 20 posts/page to minimize their wait.
pages with graphics will always load slower than those with text only,
but that's the price folks pay for being cheapasses and not coughin' up the $40/mo for broadband !
