*Cue the "Twilight Zone" theme, I guess. I'm using IE.

**I'm on IE 6 and it came out very narrow the way a poster said.

Check it out... I'm on Mac 9.1, running IE 5.14. I also have the Netscape 4.75, Netscape 6.1, and Opera 5.0 browsers... and in every one of them my post appears with normal formatting.

I've had Netscape vs. IE HTML conflicts before, and conflicts between different versions of Netscape, but never between different versions of IE. Bizarre.

These guys really need to get their act together and come up with uniform HTML protocols.

Hear the poetic Muse,
And attend:
Baraka,
You eediyot.

One's laundry list,
(Even yours),
Broken into
however many lines,

Is not
The same thing
As poetry.

Brilliant! You deserve a $10,000 grant.

At the top of Amiri Baraka's donor list: The American taxpayer.

Poor Nikita was almost right...

When the time comes to hang the capitalist West, a Western businessman will sell us the rope.

-- N. Khrushchev

When the time comes to burn Western Civilization, Western taxpayers will buy the matches.

Sorry, messed up on the italics in post #22. Only the last line was me. The poem was submitted by dighton in post #18.

Thanks.

Now that
You
Mention it,
I could use
A big stack
Of money.

There are bills
To pay,
Meals
To eat,
And various
Other
Things.

I remember Leroi from back in '64 when he wrote his play, "The Toilet".

'Nuff said.

A gem from the New Joisey poet:

In the Funk World

If Elvis Presley is King

Who is James Brown, God?

(I thought Frank Sinatra was God.)

Western businessman will sell us the rope.

This is off the topic, but didn't Lenin say "a capitalist will try to sell you the rope you hang him with?"

Regardless who said it, it's axiomatic.

No...

Sinatra =

S i n a t r a =
i r S n a t a =
i r S n a t a =
i r S a t a n =

I r Satan

Frank is the devil.

Entirely possible, but I've always seen some variant of this attributed to K. Who knows? ;)

Frank is the devil.

An Ole Blue Eyes favorite:

Cigarette holder which wigs me,
Over her shoulder, she digs me,
Out catting, that Satan Doll.
Baby shall we go out skippin', careful amigo, you're flipping,
Speaks Latin, that Satan Doll.
She's nobody's fool, so I'm playing it cool as can be,
I'll give it a whirl, but I ain't for no girl catching me,
Telephone numbers, well you know, doing my rhumbas with uno,
And that `n' my Satan Doll.

"But not for two years in a row. They don't have the talent to make all the way this year. Whether it's the Cards or someone
else, they will be knocked off the throne."

I am afraid I have to agree. The loss of Gonzo and Counsell has killed morale and taken much of the offense away. But, last year they were 100-1 underdogs also. All they have to do is win 11 games. {8^,

It looks normal to me. I'm on Konqueror/3.0; Linux 2.4.19-xfs; X11.

Must be a problem specific to IE for Windows.

BWAHAHAHAHA! Priceless. :) And boy I needed a good laugh - my day has consisted of a 19 month old with a 102 temp who only wants to be held, a 5 year old with a constant barking croupy cough and 2+ hours of court coverage of my very own NJ SC. Thanks much!!!

You know, this Amiri Baraka is not even that good a poet. Great con man, though. He should be well received in New Jersey, wherever he goes there.

I think the problem is that the width gets set here:

<p><table width=650>
<tr>
<td valign="top" width=120>
And it doesn't get turned off until the end of the article here:
<p><font face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">©2002 Creators Syndicate, Inc.</font></td>
</tr>
</table><br clear=all></p>
