I am at least comforted by the fact that the RATS did not drop a stink bomb - no legal surprises.... they have a very weak case. We'll soon see if we have a legitimate court.

Judge - What happens if the Torch remains on the ballot?
Judge - What happens if the Torch wins?
RAT - Elected someone who cannot serve.
Judge - How about the Missouri case? (ouch)
Judge - Torch on the ballot = a vote for the dem party?

Justice asks what happens if Torricelli left on and wins?
Justice asks isn't that analogous to Missouri situation?
Justice asks wouldn't that allow Democrat party to fill in name?
Rat lawyer argues that would invite voter confusion.
Justice asks why wouldn't that lead to immediate vacancy.
Rat lawyer says would invite voters to participate in election that would be a nullity.
Rat lawyer sits down
Attorney General stands up.

I think we should just make New Jersey a democrat state...save some money on all this voting business

I can no longer watch the proceedings (C-SPAN now has 15 1-minute speeches which will take at least an hour). Please keep us posted on what is going on!
Thanks!

The rat: "people vote for a candidate, not the party" when referencing what would happen if T was left on the ballot said that the party could NOT replace him if he won the election! Deep sixed himself on this one.

'Rat lawyer #1 done, now the 'Rat AG appears as amici (he says) to tag team with the first 'Rat
To: TheConservator
AG said he represents the voters, unlike the RAT
To: Timesink
Wouldn't this mean that if Torch is successfully thrown off the ballot, we just need to find one RAT primary voter to sue for disenfranchisement? I am a NJ voter and I voted for Torricelli in the primary (I have my reasons). I would not have voted for Lautenburg. What about my rights?

What? He just said it wasn't a matter of fairness to the voters!

Yes, but the justice pointed out that the dead carnahan WAS a viable candidate even in death since the governor can appoint a replacement.
To: TonyInOhio
OOPS, forgot the AG is a RAT prtisan.
