Maybe Lautenberg's campaign slogan should be:

I'll fight for New Jersey as hard as I'll fight the Grim Reaper!

A press conference tentatively scheduled for early evening yesterday to announce that Pallone had been picked was canceled. Democratic sources said Pallone's wife, Sarah, did not want to move to Washington, D.C.

BS, she didn't want to give up a sure-thing House seat for a longshot Senate seat.

Has anyone notice the talking point soundbite parroted by the dem party zombies:

"Give the people a choice."

The choice was the primary. The choice is an election.

Is the party actually falling apart or are they just showing their true muscle by forcing a senator to resign and ignoring the people to choose.

Who are they to "give" anything? They must have run this scenario and are trying to force the present situation to the USSC in order to revive the "algore" arguments.

Why would Sarah have to move to Washington, D.C? Her husband is there as a congressman and she hasn't moved. As far as I know there is no requirement that wives move to Washington if their husbands are in the Senate.

I think that this is the flimsy excuse that allowed Palone to change his mind AFTER Torricelli made his announcement, allowing the Rats to double cross the Torch and get Lautennberg after all.

It would be hilarious if the Torch changes HIS mind and decides to stay on the ticket.

Are you sure he woke up? That was the lousiest acceptance speech I've ever heard. If he's the best they can come up with Forrester will win.

Now, that would be the Torch's sweetest revenge!

After hearing a few seconds of Lautenberg's so-called "acceptance speech" I think McGreevy and the Dems should be prosecuted for abusing a corpse.

You know, I think you're right. I think Laut was in a somnolent state.

What is so absolutely piously and hypocritically disgusting about this whole charade is that Dems act if this is a Done Deal when they, and the rest of the world know it is not only morally insipid, it is highly Illegal!!

Only a usurping, corrupt NJSC would try and pull this off.

Good catch. Can't believe the reporter tried this one.

In fact, it makes extra-marital affairs much easier to manage if the wife isn't in town.

It would be part of the original plan if the Torch changes HIS mind and decides to stay on the ticket.

I know that this was one of the scenarios posited, but I now don't think it would help Torricelli. Not only is he a crook, but he is demonstrably unstable! Unable to make up his mind and emotionally fragile, plus poor judgement! Unfit to hold the office even more!

PLUS making New Jersey a laughing stock, greedy to hold on to power, beholden to Rat bosses and back room deals, unable to make peace with Lautenberg....

I don't think the Torch returning would help one bit!

Everything you say is true. And decent, good people would agree and conduct themselves in the manner you suggest.

We can't forget that Tori is a lowlife and has no regard for principle the truth or the law. He'll do whatever suits his interests.

If he is on the ballot and is somehow elected, there is nothing to stop him from reassuming office.
