Hey, it's ok! If you have any thing to add, please do. I am sure I will have an occasion to talk to this person again. LOL! ;-)

From an e-mail from Sgt. Drew US ARMY on the Monday USO Canteen Mail Call.

"If I could say one thing about the USO Post Office.
USE IT or LOOSE IT everyone! We love to hear from America.

It is no joke that a lot of guys don’t get any emails from anyone. Not even regular mail.

And I can tell you first hand to use what the Tonk has because it means a lot to many serving."

Consider it done! I've never been in a hurricane myself, but it would scare me to pieces! Stay safe, and God Bless!

It missed me by 6 houses. The north end of our subdivision was really hit hard. It also missed my son by a smidgin.

We were without power for 36 hours.

I'm trying to understand this. But in Cuba, his dad isn't "his dad", Castro is! What I would have liked to have seen; is his dad being allowed to stay in the country with his child, and being given freedom! From what I have read, apparently his dad asked, no begged, to get asylum here. And do you know what they told him, NO!! Why do people persist in saying the child was better off in Cuba?

Yeah, he's with his 'birth family', but we're only fooling ourselves if we think he is going to stay with them! Can't you see that the ways of this country are so different from their's? In their country, they are all prisoners. His mother tried to get herself, and Elian to freedom, but someone wrecked the boat, as they have done to others, and so he was found. Where was his dad? Why didn't he go instantly to claim him?

From what I understand, until Castro forced him, he wanted Elian to stay with his Florida family, and he wanted to join him. All of a sudden, he did a 180 degree turn! If it was just a matter of returning him to his dad, why would Castro get involved, and drag him and his dad back?

My parents had the great good fortune to fall in love practically at first sight and continue to love each other (with occasional episodes of being mad at the other) all along and still do.

And they are now tucked into a beautiful retirement apartment community where they have a lovely restaurant to eat in and people to do their housekeeping and take care of their clothes.

And this is thanks to Dosers, like MJY1288, who prayed for my father last year when he was so very ill and we thought we were going to lose him. But Dad recovered so quickly it was truly miraculous, and so he was able to accompany Mother to their new home and enjoy great food and sparkling clean accomodations and his wonderful companion and love of over 61 years during these last 13 months.

The list of all those who prayed was on my mother's laptop which I was using while helping them last year, so I can't give you the names on all the miracle prayer chain from here but I remember MJY1288 especially, because his father also had Alzheimer's and then he lost his father last Spring.

I will always be so grateful to all the prayer chain because they gave my folks this wonderful last year or two or maybe three together.

this affects the absentee ballots sent to the military.

If they are merely corrupt and not senile also, then the NJ Supremes will make some ruling that says that for those who already got their absentee ballots that they will accept as valid any vote on sent back on those original ballots.

That would put a sock in a Republican challenge on the basis of military ballots.

Now if they change the date of the election in order for there to be time to send out replacement ballots, then they may be in trouble.

If this goes down to the appointment by the governor and canceling the election for a year or two that is in total opposition to the Constitution.

Correct. So they will be toast if they try to do that.

Oh, thanks for telling me that California backed off on the homschool bit. Do you happen to know how that came about?

Just the gist of a rumor, so don't count on the accuracy of this, but apparently a bunch of sheriffs and D.A.'s told the State superintendent that they refused flat out to arrest or prosecute homeschoolers.

This all NJ thing has got me totally down in the dumps.

Look at it this way. This NJ thing could be what shuts the door to a half dozen more election-stealing plots in the dem hatchery. They are pressing forward with Torricelli stepping down for no reason than that Plan A didn't work (his weak-wristed Senate "rebuke" didn't wash with the masses); they picked a recycled dem to try to retain the seat, thereby forcing this thing into the court/s; and if the NJ SC goes for the dems, it's going to hit the USSC. In one swoop, Torricelli could have done major damage to many more corrupt election tactics. It's too much even for me to hope that the GOP will outthink the next round of these weird workings, but it will buy some time to get things more in order, if right is done.

Hey fellow Texan, here is the truth on
party registration in Texas. We have
OPEN primaries...I always vote Repub.,
but if I wanted to vote Dem, all I do
is walk in at a Dem primary station &
request a ballot. They check me off a
list of registered voters so I can't
go vote in the Repub. primary too.

But it's only for THAT election. Next
time, I simply walk in at a Repub. one
again, request a ballot & VOILA!, I'm
back as a Repub. voter.

You have already been told a straight
story. Now you can relax & enjoy the
voting process even more!

Thanks again, mtngrl, for posting the Psalm! What a treasure trove of riches are found in the Psalms.

"In the day of trouble, I sought the Lord." = seems like what we all do. With good reason. While we can question and even doubt God at some times - we can be assured that "God gives ear to us" no matter how much "in anguish" we are. And remembering God's works of old is a great way to get through the times when maybe we don't see our troubles ending any time soon. Just as God worked on our behalf in the past (through sending His Son Jesus into the world, for instance) - he will also work on our behalf now....EVEN WHEN WE CANNOT SEE WHAT HE IS DOING!

Thanks again for the post!
