While talking about Free Republic, Rep. Barr mentioned the the great time he had at the Inaugural Ball and asked if any of us attended

I was there and gave Bob Barr one of the souvenir placard (Count the Silverware) license plates designed by Registered. He had it in his hand when he made his speech that night. What a wonderful time that was.

Thank you Bob Barr!!

Barr is a great American. I wish I were a DC Freeper.

What a lovely report!! He is a most gracious man, and I think everytime I've made it to Washington for a freeper event, he was always there, supporting (and appreciating), DC Chapter efforts.

Angelwood, I'm in the next district over, (Isackson's district), but I've volunteered in Rep Barr's office, attended his town hall meetings, and special occasions he attended, when national Republicans came to town. He always treated local Freepers like VIPs.

You guys are wonderful for bestowing this last honor on Representative Bob Barr.

Staytrue looks on, smiling, as Angelwood holds "Thank You" card, signed by DC Chapter

Angelwood and Staytrue greet Congressman Barr as he arrives at his office for our meeting.

Congressman Barr

Angelwood and Kelly look at the many mementoes that Congressman Barr has collected over the years.

On a serious subject...

A man of integrity

Angelwood and Kelly - who worked together to arrange the DC Chapter White House private tour.

Kelly stands under the famous "How Would He Vote" impeachment ad, which Congressman Barr has on prominent display in his outer office.

Angelwood also gave Kelly a thank you card, from all the FReepers who attended the White House tour.

Fantastic, Angelwood.

A good man and I'm so sorry to see him and other Republicans lose their seats to more "progressive" candidates.

Angelwood and Kelly share some political talk.

(from left) Angelwood, (?), Staytrue, Congressman Barr, tgslTakoma, Taxman. Congressman Barr holds card from DC Chapter members.

Angelwood and Congressman Barr talk about the Patriot's Rally for America, which the DC Chapter organized and hosted on April 20, 2002.

Angelwood invites Congressman Barr to be a guest speaker at future DC Chapter events.

Angelwood looks on as Congressman Barr answers a question about the upcoming election.

Congressman Barr is optimistic that he'll see more of the DC Chapter in the future; and we share his optimism.

Would CommiesOut's signature be on that card, then?

Anyone got a link to the DC Chapter's tour of the White House thread?

Congressman Barr answers a question honestly. I remain impressed with his steadfast loyalty to the Founding Fathers' principles and vision for America.

Congressman Barr holds the envelope containing his card. Note the DC Chapter button in the corner where a stamp is usually placed.

Congressman Barr signs a gift for Staytrue. (He gave Staytrue a copy of the US Constitution.)

Congressman Barr's aide looks at all the buttons and DC Chapter pens that Angelwood has given to Barr's staffers.

Angelwood's bag o' buttons!

Yes, CommiesOut signed the card with his real name instead of his FR name. He is missed.

The honor was all ours, believe me! When next I see you and SuzanneC, I'll pass along the hug I got from Bob Barr for you two. I reminded him that both of you worked on his campaign even though you lived in a different district. He was very gracious and spent more time than we expected talking to us.

I don't do ping lists. I hand type each name. Why don't you alert the DC Chapter?

Thanks for all the hard work getting the picture links posted.

Jeezz! Three people proofread this report and we all missed the double "the" in the sentence Fred Mertz highlighted in his reply.

It's late and we did try! FReep On!

His last post on that thread ...

To: Silly

Every FReeper is invited by default. There is no secret
list. When you see post starting with "DC Chapter ... ..."
by Kristinn or Angelwood, take a look inside. There might
be an invitation for FReep or some other exciting event in
DC. Regards
