An impressive, impassioned speech from Zell Miller.

No, not all Democrats are evil. Yours is the sentiment of a true extremist. These are extraordinarily dangerous times. Americans of all political persuasians must find a way to rise above the old politics and embrace our common heritage. We, as a nation, cannot afford to spit in the face of such bravery, eloquence and patriotism as epitomized by Senator Miller's speech. Bravery is not found just found in the military, or in firefighters going into burning buildings, or in the self-sacrifice of the Flight 93 passengers and crew. Bravery is found in standing up for what is right even when there is a cost to one's personal standing among peers or one's personal comfort. Senator Zell Miller's speech was in the finest tradition of the extraordinarily brave founders of this blessed nation. I will love and honor him for it forever, even though I am not now nor will I ever be a Democrat.

Yep - remember that "The Devil can quote Scripture..."

Here-here. It's hard to beleive that the same state and party that produce Cynthia McKinnney also produced Zell Miller. He thought politics in GA were machiavellian, DC must be blowing his mind. Gotta go- Brit Hume eye candy has begun.
To: NittanyLion
I disagree. Not "all" democrats are evil. To say this is to stereotype all people. That wouldn't be intellectually correct, nor would it be philisophically correct.
Zell Miller did a good thing. He seems to understand how important this issue is. I care about the issue more than the party. America first. In fact, I would say that what Zell Miller just said and did, is exaclty what this President has been TRYING to do.
Good on Miller!!
To: Howlin
It is almost hard to believe this was written by a democrat.
You go, Zell.
To: Howlin
This was a great speech and I wish they would have shown it on the news... if they did, I missed it. I have watched Zell Miller over the last year and he isn't afraid to speak his mind and to disagree with the democrat party line....I would like to know how many of the Senators were present to witness his speech and how they reacted to it. Thanks for sharing it Howlin!

I know. It is beyond imagination how anyone can't see what Daschle is up to. This has been going on since Daschle took the gloves off after 9/11.
He is a screeching banshee..and it should be apparent to everyone who is politicizing what.
At least Zell Miller spoke up.
To: Howlin
Send Zell a message. I sent this.
While I am not one of your constituents, I'd like to invite you to join the Republican Party. I've seen that you are more confortable with Republican positions on most issues, why not make the change.
I know that you might not want to do so in the middle of a term, but please consider running as a Republican in the next election. You'll be happier, and so will the country.
Easy to do it here

He can not back down, he has painted himself in a corner. If he backs out the left wing of his party will rip him to pieces and the middle of the roaders will distance themselves. Dashcle did it to himself and did he do a great job!

Which raises the question, how much longer will he keep calling himself a Democrat?
To: Howlin
Thanks for the ping. Speech saved and printed for discussion with sheeple (and patriots) later on at local tavern. Can you put me on your live thread ping list? Thanks.

I used to be a Democrat, back when I thought most Democrats were like Zell. Alas, his party is now too decimated and desecrated to be saved. He should jump ship. Come towards the light, Zell!
